Solved: Set a Goal for July

Hi there,

Setting a goal (no matter how small) can help you accomplish more. Last month we invited sellers to set a goal and share it with the team. Take a look at last month's thread (https://www.etsy.com/teams/5002/etsy-success/discuss/14658006) where you'll see many sellers reporting they reached their goals or made some progress they felt good about.

Take a moment to settle on your goal and then share it here. By writing it down and sharing with others, you'll reinforce your commitment to it.

A goal can be anything from listing a new item to reaching your 100th sale.

When sharing your goal for July, please introduce yourself and share how long you've been selling on Etsy.

I'll start. I have been working at Etsy for 3 years, and I've been on the Seller Education team for the last year. I just moved so my goal for July is to set up a studio space in the new place. What about you?

I met my goal for June (yippee! ) which was to reach 240 sales. I got to 241, so I did one better. I would like to hit 245 this month - that's just four sales. I also need to list at least one new metalwork item each week. Since my kids are home on summer break and we have a new baby, that's reasonable.

Hi there! I just opened my shop on May 30th, and reached my first goal of making a sale to a stranger! My July goals are as follows:

• List ten more items
• Make 2 sales (double my sales from last month)
• Have some postcards and greeting cards printed

My goal has been to follow many of the suggestions from my Etsy emails. My shop has been open for about a year. I'm striving to continually add more items and update my site based on your suggestions. My goal for July is to get involved with a team who might be able to give me specific suggestions.

Last month I managed to reach my goal of my 50th sale with 10 sales in the month. This month I want to double that number of sales to 20 and double the number of items listed in my shop. Hmmm, looks like I will be busy.

I am very happy because I managed to achieve my june goal which was to spend one full day or two half days on Etsy per week. I have been struggling to balance my full time job and my Etsy shop but after doing this system for a few weeks I feel like I am starting to fit everything in well!

My goal for June is to get up to 50 items listed! :)

On the 15th of July my shop will be 1 year old. At the start of this venture I set myself a goal of 100 sales in my first year, I am currently on 93 sales so I have 13 days to make another 7 sales. So nearly there, (keep fingers crossed).
My goal for July is to try achieve 15 sales in July alone, its a biggy I know but I am going for it.

I'm Julie and I started listing in my shop in May this year. Up until now I've been keeping it a bit of a secret!

My goal for July is to complete my About page, set up on Facebook and twitter to come out into the sunshine and start connecting with people.

I've had an Etsy shop for 3 years, but have actively been focusing on it for 2. In July I want to expand on June's success, learn to scan my large paintings, and find a source to have my art turned into greeting cards.

Life has kept me busy and I haven't had a lot of time to work on my shop. I have two small goals for this month.

1) Work on the afghan I'm making for personal use
2) Finish writing a crochet pattern for something I've created recently

That's it. July is busy, so I want to keep my goals simple. :)

Usually it's make something new everyday but since I've been a bit overwhelmed with work and I'm at the end of my pregnancy - I am running out of energy! My goal for July is to make three new things a week instead of 5. Giving myself a bit of a break ;)

Hello! I started my business and opened my Etsy store in February this year. We have just moved house so I am getting adjusted to the new space and catching up with sewing my designs. My goals for July are to get my first sale, to keep learning and growing, and to be consistent with regular listings and social media posts.

My July goals, which I posted way back in the beginning of the thread are:

1. Get my sewing machine fixed (in the shop)
2. Add six new listings (2 done, working on third now)
3. Work on getting a website going (researching, think I'm going with GoDady)

Besides stating my goals here, I also posted them right next to my computer. It really helps to see them every morning as a reminder.

My shop turned 1 month old this weekend! I've made 5 sales, which I would like to match again this month with another 5. I currently have 45 listings, and would like to see that expanded to 100. I also would like to begin a new line of hand painted greeting cards.

I love being encouraged by everyone's posts at whatever point their shops are at. There's so much great energy here :)

Hi everyone, it is so exciting to hear everyone's plans for this month. We are half way through so I hope everyone is making great progress! As for myself I have the following goals for this month:
1. List 2-3 items per week
2. Make the prototype for 2 new items and solicit feedback.
3. Create a more tour ought about page that includes pictures ( this might be the scariest one!)

My goal was to get a good handle on shipping since I have been open less than a month. I think I'm finally getting comfortable with the 783924 shipping options! I even tackled an international purchase which admittedly scared the bajesus out of me but was a breeze!

We started our Etsy shop about one month and a week ago, and our goal for July was to set up our branding and as a bonus to make our first sale! (Posted at 6:06 pm Jul 4, 2014)

And just now we reached our bonus goal - we had our first sale! :)

And we are celebrating it with Caribbean-flavored noodles! :P

Hi everyone,

I've been an Etsy seller for 3 years, all on the side because my day job is in architecture. Now that I've been neglecting my shop quite a bit for the last 10 months because of planning my wedding that happened in June, I can get back to the shop. My goals this month are:

1.) To get to my 20th sale (I'm at 17 now)
2.) To get 7 more items listed
3.) To increase views and traffic into my shop (was 140 last month) - so let's try to get 500 this month.

I am fairly new to this site but have been selling on Etsy for almost three years. I have been to some extent not exactly neglecting but not promoting much either I have been sort of in a rut. My goal for July is:

1. Sell more than I did last year same month: Probably $400
2. Get 20 more items listed.
3. Get another shop up and running at least for vintage and possible another one for vintage vinyls. Not sure they will let me do both. I have so many vintage records that someone gave me so I want to set it up and let my husband run the shop. Then I also have so much vintage items in general I thought I would do a shop just for that. Can anyone give me advice?

I mainly just need to get kicked into gear. Thank you for this goal setting site.

I've already written this in another thread, but here goes again!

1) Reach 150 sales, I'm at 126 right now. (:
2) List 100 items. I'm at 83 items.
3) Hopefully get accepted into a craft market.
4) Turn 23-year-old. (I'm pretty sure I'm going to achieve this goal at least :D!)

My goal for June was to get to 50 items in my inventory. I started in the middle of the month so I only made it to 30 but now that I'm starting early in the month. I'll make this month's inventory goal 65 by the end of the month. (^_^)

I've double my sales in the month of July each year for the past few years....so IT WOULD BE WONDERFUL to do that again....
But conservatively I would just say I would like to do more then I did in July last year. It's a goal I try and make every month and It's motivating enough so far :)

I've been on Etsy since July, 2010. I've been very part-time mostly due to lack of funds and then moving. my goals for this month are:
1. Get my sewing machine fixed. (Can't do much without it.)

We are celebrating 1 year of being open! We took a vacation in feb and it hurt our sales. Last month was great. Maybe add $100 to our income this month?

this is my 4th year now and my goal is to double (at least) the July 2013 sales!

Hi! I just opened my shop on June 4, and my first goal is to make it known. I've just had 50 colorful postcards made that can also double as small flyers and announcements on community bulletin boards. My goal for July is to get out as many as possible and perhaps even take part in a local craft fair. It would be lovely to make my first sale in July, but as summer isn't the best time to sell yarn items, I'm focusing on making airy, lacy items.
