Is anyone working on the thumbnail pictures showing up as black, extra large or just blank? This issue has been going on for days and no updates have been given.
@ChillwolfArt - Thank you for checking. Yes, I really do think its user dependent. How many buyers are going to fiddle around with clearing cache/cookies on laptops? As far as the phone, how many are going to reboot their phone? My guess is many will just scroll past the black, grey and brown boxes : (
I use one browser for selling, and another for buying supplies. As I was looking for supplies yesterday, I noticed a few black thumbnail pictures in a couple shops I was browsing, and it was not Chrome. It was pretty annoying as I couldn't see the items. That's an alarming issue, and I sure hope the black thumbnails are not showing in my shop when buyers are browsing my items!
I wonder if it has anything to do with that insane test with a clickable link on top of the thumbnail or first image to "find similar items"??? I'm not seeing that clickable link on ANY items... and I have not seen ANY black image spots. Gotta wonder if they're related?
It's unconscionable that etsy is being mute on this issue... and that it's persisted for so long. They're LOUD on customer service... but way short on "walk the talk"...
Yeah, here is the same, black thumbnails on the listing images, or oversized and very blurred as well. It'd have been like this for a few days... It is not a browser problem, unfortunately... I am looking for a solution as well.
This is very frustrating as we use the listing pic on the invoice to know what to make...I have had to go into the order one by one to even know what to make.
I'm having the same issue too. When I check etsy search random items are black box thumbnails and blurred close-ups. When I print out my order slips there are the same random black box thumbnails and blurred close-ups. It's been like this since last week
This just started for me tonight on a few listings. The thumbnails are not black they are just empty. I thought it was my internet connection but after reading this - maybe not.
I have one blacked out item when viewed signed in/out on chrome. When I view my shop on my mobile one pic is zoomed in so it looks like I'm selling floor tiles. Maybe someone will like them and try to buy them. lol! My other shop (different browesr) has one pink square instead of the main pic. This is not a browser issue. I've also noticed one or two people who favourite my items have a blanked out avatar. All so weird. Maybe it's hard to pin the issue down because it changes according to time/device/browser/user. But cmon Etsy we're paying to show people blank squares and our floors etc!
I wonder if it has anything to do with those new Etsy order confirmation email additional headers? They themselves are very annoying but if that's what causes thumbnail problems, I hate them even more.
As it turns out, fixing the thumbnails only helps for so long . . . some of the ones I adjusted are still fine after 36 hours, others have reverted to the zoomed-in fuzzy shots, and now new ones are cropping up randomly.
Etsy fix didn't work for me (clearing the cache in Chrome). So I edited my listing by deleting the first photo then adding it again, It worked. My first photo is no longer black. Hope this works for you.
