Isn't this rude?

I don't know every rule of etiquette, but I was really irritated a while ago when I received a convo from a seller who I featured in a treasury. Her item was the last in the bottom row. She said:

"Thank you for the feature. However, I feel that my item fit your theme very well, and I was disappointed that it was not in the top three rows. I think that it had more right to be there than some of the items that were given those spots."

WHAT? How rude! I said nothing in response, and replaced her item with someone else's. I have never received a negative comment from someone who I had featured in a treasury. I mean, it is a good thing to be in a treasury, isn't it? Someone has to get the last spot, and the last spot really isn't that bad...

Have you gotten anything like this? Do you think I have a right to be SUPER annoyed?

as a new seller I'd just be delighted to have one of my items featured in a treasury - there is just no pleasing some people!

How very sad that some people are so small of spirit that they would send a convo like that, and not realize themselves how inappropriate it is. I'm sorry that ANYONE on Etsy would shame another seller (especially one who was featuring them) in that manner.

I had a teacher years ago who said something like this, "When people treat you poorly, disrespectfully, or abusively, don't join their ranks. Don't become a mean-spirited person because someone was mean to you. Remember that the best thing is that you aren't them. Everyone has to live with themselves, and you will never have to live with a mean spirit."

So say a little prayer (or whatever works for you) that her small spirit will get the help she needs to see the inappropriateness of her behavior, and kiss her, bless, let her go. Or put her in God's hands, or the arms of the angels, or whatever else you can think of that would leave her to get what she needs to open her heart, and then let her go.

Let yourself go too. It's only going to harm you to harbor a resentment over this. You did something good for someone. Stand tall, and be proud of you for doing that. You have us all at your back.

And I bet you can find a way to make lemonade out of a lemon like this! I'd just make something beautiful to replace the bad taste she left in my heart.

That is terrible. It is an honor now matter where your item is place. Treasuries take time and patience and for that you deserved a big thank you.

Nothing gets under my skin quite like a sense of entitlement. I believe you handled that appropriately, since the spot clearly wasn't appreciated.

I was shocked the first time someone on these boards told me that the last row was considered "lesser than" because if (IF!) one's treasury makes it to the FP those items won't be seen.

Hasn't changed how I put treasuries together.

Geez, I never think of ranking and placement when I make a treasury or am featured in a treasury.

Just happy to find items that fit the theme.

To be chosen for treasury is the reward, not placement in that block of etsy sellers.

I hope you were polite with you reply and direct! That's not only rude its despicable behavior.

I had no idea there was a "ranking" place on treasuries. I have seen pictures move around on the FP treasury - so I thought they all had a chance in the spotlight during its hour up.

That's very unfortunate. The chances are so slim that any given treasury would be picked for the FP, it's silly to get into a competition about what row you are in. Personally, I treat treasury-making like story telling. Sometimes my favorite pieces are at the end, tying all the ends up and giving it a nice finish. It never occurred to me that someone might take offense.

It doesn't matter where your item it, even if it ends up on the front page, they rotate items throughout the hour anyways.

I had someone tell me I was spamming them when I let them know I included them in my treasury awhile ago. So I replaced their item with someone elses. The treasury went on to get over 1000 views, haha.
