Isn't this rude?

I don't know every rule of etiquette, but I was really irritated a while ago when I received a convo from a seller who I featured in a treasury. Her item was the last in the bottom row. She said:

"Thank you for the feature. However, I feel that my item fit your theme very well, and I was disappointed that it was not in the top three rows. I think that it had more right to be there than some of the items that were given those spots."

WHAT? How rude! I said nothing in response, and replaced her item with someone else's. I have never received a negative comment from someone who I had featured in a treasury. I mean, it is a good thing to be in a treasury, isn't it? Someone has to get the last spot, and the last spot really isn't that bad...

Have you gotten anything like this? Do you think I have a right to be SUPER annoyed?

I don't make treasuries, but I am always grateful just to be chosen to be in a treasury at all.

I think she was being very rude. People like that simply don't deserve to be in treasuries, imo.

Oh wow! I agree, that was rude!! It's not like the placement of an item is some sort of ranking! I move things around, to make the treasury look... varied. You know, like I don't want a picture next to a drawing, so, I'll move them around. So crazy!! I am honored to be included in any treasury regardless of item placement! Oh my!

No, I've never heard of this kind of response, or have received one from a featured seller. Sometimes I don't even receive a response from sellers, and that's okay!! ...

I think most people might subconsciously pin for the top three rows or the first spot because visually those the first ones that are seen...but the rows aren't a ranking of likability towards each item - like most to least. The first spot doesn't mean it's going to be the most popular with every viewer either - it depends on whether each item is interesting or not to each person.. So, I'm very surprised by a response like this!!

There's always going to be one. You did the right thing. If she's not happy where she is, you can find someone else thrilled to have the spot! I honestly haven't given any choice at all to position when I make up treasuries. I pick a bunch of items I like for whatever reason and include them. If you're first it's because you were the most recent of my favorites that day. If you're last it's because I wanted to make sure I got you in before I ran out of spots.

Etsy is a place where you can find a wealth of talent. If someone wants to pull rank, there are plenty of other beautiful choices.

It's completely rude to say something like that. I mean, yeah if the treasury were featured on the FP the last row wouldn't be seen. But if something sold, then the items move up 1 slot.

She didn't make the treasury so she had no right to be disrespectful.

This is perhaps the rudest thing I have heard yet - a right to be in the first three rows???? How do you have a right to be in a treasury?
I was in the bottom row (third spot on bottom row) recently. The treasury made it to the front page, three items sold and mine got to the front page.
So I appreciate every spot in a treasury!

You did the right thing by yanking her out in my opinion. Nothing grates on my nerves more than an ingrate.
