Re: Team Chat

I just had a bath, using a 'cupcake' bath bomb which I got for christmas. They smell gorgeous and look good enough to eat. I used the strawberry one - but the bomb is so oily! I feel really greasy! Yuck!!!

Re: Team Chat

Just watched 'One Born Everyminute (UK)' and there was this one couple, who was ompletely irritating. She was the problem, 30, her first child, and she wanted to be alone, didn't want her husband in the room, she couldn't speak any english, and she was too busy putting make up on herself and sitting in silence. Whenever her mum came into the room she complained it was a difficult birth! She was too obsessed with her appearence! Finally she gave birth, and her husband poor guy was only allowed to see their child for a few seconds before she summoned him out the room! What a nightmare!

Re: Team Chat

I felt so sorry for him, he clearly wanted to be there for her and baby, he didn't care if she looked a mess! I think it is a new series, coming to an end soon. I like the gossip the mid wives have in between! And I sometimes shed a tear once baby is born.. lol!

Re: Team Chat

I am actually in the process of trying to loose weight. I have always been really quite skinny, a size 10 (UK) on top and bottom around 9.5 stone. Then I gradually put on weight, loads of it, I didn't even notice until I tried putting on a pair of jeans and they wouldn't go past my thighs! This happened through out 3 years. I weighed just over 14st. And was a size 16/18 UK in clothes. I managed through gentle excercise using the wii fit and diet, just eating smaller portions and its been over a year, but now I weight 12 st 3lbs. I am a 12 UK on top and a 14 UK on bottom. But I have reached a plateau. I haven't gain or lost anything exceptt the occasional pound, which I gain or loose. This has been happening for the past 6 months. Any advice??

Re: Team Chat

Well, it is hard to know what to advise you about a healthy body plan without knowing what you're eating, how you're exercising, and what your overall focus is. I personally really don't find it helpful in my outlook of myself to go by weight - weight hardly means anything in terms of health and fitness (there are much better indicators of your overall health and body shape) and women can really go into a downward self esteem spiral if they focus too much on weight (as someone who has had an ED, please be careful of how you approach weight loss!).

The basic idea that many follow is to count your calories and make sure you burn off more during exercise than you eat during the day. But I can say that it is very helpful to mix up your exercise routine often to avoid plateaus, as well as mix up your diet. Don't totally cut out anything, because it will make you binge. Make sure to give yourself a day of relaxation every week and maybe just do some light stretching that day. Also understand that your body can really communicate a lot more than we often think it will. If you're geared toward health, you will discover that you innately know what foods are healthy by how you feel as you eat them or a few hours after you eat them - adjust your diet to what makes you feel you have the most strength and energy. The same goes for exercising - make sure to do activities that make your body feel on top of the world a few hours after (obviously sore and tired is good, but you'll notice which ones make your body really feel fantastic). I'd also look into meeting with a nutritionist or a trainer for a few sessions just to get a basic life plan for you to implement. A trainer can be expensive, but at the same time, you're investing in your health!

Re: Team Chat

Fantastic advice Emily :D

I'd just started losing weight when I found out I was preggers so I had to stop 3 weeks in, but in that time I'd lost 7 kg's from having changed my diet a little (ate pretty well but couldn't say no to a lot of junk foods lol), and kicking arse on my Wii Fit Plus! Honestly, I had my doubts about the thing but if you have a Wii I seriously recommend getting one of the fitness type games. Saves money on the gym, you can crank up the music as loud as you want at home and you can look completely daggy doing it ;)

Thankfully I've only put on about 10kgs through the pregnancy too so I'll just be starting over once I'm able to start exercising fully again.

Ok, Kelly, you have to fill me in on your UK slang... what is daggy? Just goofy? So intrigued by the new words I learn from these forums!

Re: Team Chat

Thanks for the advice. I lost over a stone using the Wii Fit! I love it! I am actually quite healthy. I don't over eat and I am sort of active. I used to be much more active. I think I need to increase my excercise. Much to my displeasure ahaha!

Have to say I quite like being curvy.

Re: Team Chat

Also, will add. The main part I want to loose fat is on my thighs... I so wish I spot burning existed... :(

Re: Team Chat

After years of eating disorders, I now LOVE what curves I have. I actually don't exercise much now because I tend to drop any femininity in my body quite quickly. I know it exasperates some people to hear my complain about gaining muscle rapidly, but it is such a quick thing that I can't feel "womanly" if I get that much muscle. And for thigh work outs, I would definitely focus on dancing and biking, both are fantastic for your thighs! Oh, and roller blading, too!

Re: Team Chat

I Just want to fit into my size 10 jeans again.. :( I don't think that is ever going to happen - but I will be happy with a 12. I am currently a 14 on bottom. I can wear my old clothes on top. Just fed up of wearing leggings!

In some ways I am pleased I haven't gained or lost any weight for a few months. So I know I can control my weight quite easily. Just got to get used to the excercise regime again. I got no excuse really not to excercise. I have plenty of time to do it. It's just laziness. Lack of motivation.

Right!! I am going to excercise 4 times a week 30 mins to a hour a day. I will do it!!!!

Re: Team Chat

Emily; I'd guess you could call it goofy. I meant it as "in clothes you wouldn't let the outside world see you in" lol. For me that's those small gym shorts that barely cover your bum and a singlet.

*goes and finds a converter to figure how much a stone is...* ooo well that's about 6.3kgs if my maths is right, so that pretty awesome :D

I've always had curves (my boobs are bit on the large size lol)... even at my thinnest which was around the 57kg/125lb mark... I do love them, and really, so does the Mr LOL
I've ballooned over the last few years though due to hating my day job (now long gone) and eating comfort/convenience food due to the ridiculous hours I was there (shit staff that wouldn't turn up, and being the store's manager if no one else could cover I had to.. and then having no support from upper management so *I* could get the time off I needed). Before bubs starting growing I was up to a sz16, something I'm not massively proud of. As I said though, as soon as I can start exercising fully again I'll be back into it... Squish is gonna learn how the right way how to look after herself!
