I have two products that are being advertised that are not coming up today in searches at all. They are very popular right now and one of them is a Best Seller. I even put them on sale to see if they would come up. This is one of them: https://thetimetaxi.etsy.com/listing/1479039095
I tried searching in incognito and it isn't coming up. I am not getting any search visits either. I am just getting visits from social media etc.
It usually comes up under Dalmatian Ears, Dalmatian Hair Clips or Dalmatian Barrettes.
Re-sharing my post from here:
Hi everyone - thanks so much for bringing this issue to our attention so that our team could look into it. While rankings in search are based on many factors, we have discovered a technical glitch that limited the visibility of a very small subset of items in search. This occurred during our routine sweeps to keep our marketplace safe and identify prohibited items. We are in the process of implementing a solution, and impacted listings should be restored to search within the next several hours. We apologize for any confusion or frustration this may have caused.
It looks like that product is not indexed, for some reason. It doesn't even show up in your shop when searching for "dalmatian."
Im having the same issue.
2 bestsellers gone from search.
Active in my shop under 'All'
But if you search the shop they dont come up!
@TheTimeTaxi: There are many many factors that affect listing placement and the relative weight of each factor probably changes constantly. Even exact word matches to your title no longer ensure that you will appear high in search. Your listing may be appearing on page 251 and Etsy is only showing the first 250 pages to the world. Add in things like frequency capping and it is all incomprehensible.
There is also a very interesting post at https://community.etsy.com/t5/Marketing-Your-Business/Etsy-search-is-moving-away-from-relevancy/td-p... that you may want to take the time to read.
It's not even in her own shop.
I checked that after seeing that her item wasn't coming up at all, even when filtering by her city. Her other dalmatian products show up in search, but not that one.
I'm wondering if the image recognition bots are thinking it looks too much like a Disney version? But you would think that Etsy would just have de-activated the listing then. Maybe try de-activating and re-activating the listing?
OP, you use the words "101" and "dalmatian" in the same section of the description. Etsy's bots can figure out you are referencing the Disney movie, even if it is subtle. Remove all references to that movie. Create a new listing emphasizing their use as costume parts for Halloween or school plays. You also should look for an email from Etsy if the listings were deactivated.
I'll make those changes. I wasn't trying to say it was a Disney product. 101 Days of School should be ok in the description because it is an event the kindergartens celebrate every year. The product is Dalmatian Ears. It isn't a "Relative word" problem in the search. The listings aren't coming up in any searches, and one of them is a Best Seller. The listings have not been deactivated, and I have not been contacted by Etsy. I can see the two items in my shop if I go there in incognito mode.
I duplicated it, and created a new one so it can be found in searches. It takes a lot of work to earn Best Seller it is like starting over. The new one ends with a number "2" in the title.
Im also having the same issue 2 of my b est selling items have totally gone from serch.
Still active in my shop.
However if i search my shop they dont even come up!
Hey, I'm also having the same issue! Exactly what you just said has happened go me. I usually have 6 - 10 sales but 0 orders today I've been on the phone to Etys and chat but they said they have escalated the issue and someone will email me ASAP.
The same thing has happened to me today
I have over 200 listings which usually show on the first few pages. Today just two listings are showing everything else from my shop has disappeared from search
Same here- 8 of my bestselling listings are de-indexed from search. These listings account for 25% of my shop's traffic!!!
I talked with support and they proceeded to gaslight me claiming the items are all indexed and visible in search. They definitely aren't, which I confirmed with my internal shop search as well as Etsy's search in an incognito window (filtering for location and price). I explained the methods I used to determine the listings have been de-indexed and was ignored. Very concerning, I don't know what to do!!
We are having the same issue - listings not visible in search generally, and not visible when our store is searched.
I got told by support it's a temporary search test and they will be visible again soon.
Hey guys,
I am having the exact same issue, I have been stressing all day. Usually having 6 - 10 orders a day and today has been 0. I've contacted Etsy a couple times and no help whatsoever. I was told they have escalated the issue and I am to recieve an email soon.
My listing is showing "active" but not showing anywhere when searched. I hope they fix this soon as I've heard stories of people waiting weeks for an update.
Same here none of my listings showing up (usually at the top of search) just been told by support that a specialist team is doing a test and reviewing my listings. Can't tell me how long it will take so no income for me at all until the test finishes.
Let's hope this is not a long test....
I listed two new items but neither are showing in searches, I have tried searching the title, keywords, even tried searching with a different location with a VPN, nothing.
Does anyone know how to fix this, I have been here a long time and I have never known this to happen, unless I have done something wrong?
My listings are:

and

Thanks in advance.

We have just opened an etsy account and uploaded our listings last week. However we have had 0 views and our products don't show up on search. Can anyone help why?
You shop does not seem to be indexed, you will have to contact Etsy and mention this to them
Maybe because a lot of your items are not allowed on Etsy
Any item included in a Giftset must be able to be sold on Etsy as a standalone item -- ie Handmade by seller or designed by seller and production outsourced to a production partner that makes the item for only them or Vintage (over 20 yrs old) or Craft Supplies
So Peter Rabbit counting books are not allowed
Bought in wooden toys not allowed
Unpersonalised bought-in items not allowed
You can buy in items and personalise them yourself -- the personalisation is sufficient to make those "handmade" but you cannot outsource the personalisation
To everyone that is dealing with this issue today and have virtually no sales, has anyone gotten any useful information from Etsy chat or phone calls about what's going on?
Your shop is not indexed.
I am aware. This is what multiple shops are currently dealing with.
Nope, from what I'm seeing everyone is getting canned responses and then the issue getting escalated. Etsy then tells us someone will contact us through email. We haven't heard anything yet.
I'm still waiting for the email...
