Photos Cropped

Whats going on with all the photos being cropped? Is etsy sorting this out?

@4WingsandaDream I just looked at your shop and I'm seeing rectangles.  Some of us were in the test, and the square format doesn't work for everyone.  For some, the photos don't fit in the square.  It cuts their image off.

Etsy just doesn't care and will make the square permanent.  I may have to retake a lot of pics as cropping will not work.

This is as bad as moving descriptions down under reviews.

I think they're deliberately trying to destroy themselves.

Moving more back to Ebay.

Stockholders are not going to be happy.

This is wrong. Because in search and on Etsy pages, photos are still rectangular!

On the store page, they're square, yes. A week later. And yes, I'm clear cache.

1. Can the moderators EXACTLY explain the timing of updates and their parameters?
2. Will photos be square in search results? When?
3. Will photos be square on Etsy pages (e.g. https://www.etsy.com/c/home-and-living/home-decor/wall-decor)?

I am experiencing this issue as well in both of my shops.  Some of my listing images look fine and others are cropped too far in.  My photos have always been square and 2000px.  I'm glad the photos don't show as cropped in Etsy search, but I dislike the look of my actual shop pages now... looks unprofessional and I take great care and pride in my shop's appearance.  I have been in contact with Etsy support and they are working on this issue, so I'm trying to be chill about it.  Don't mess with your photos... you'll just waste your time.

Good Grief. Cropping thumbnails to look less awful works on some listings and not at all on others - trying both the old listing form and the new.

A small note: the pictures in the store are square, but still they are cropped. But in the search results, they are no longer cropped.

I don't understand why they haven't reverted this yet. People have hundreds of photos that they would need to reupload, myself included. I am strongly urging them to revert this change! My shop looks so bad with everything cut off.

Etst has just updated with a new feature, the image will be automatically turned off according to the ratio given by etsy.

I uploaded squared images 1:1 ratio, why are the images cropped in in the search results? A zoom-in is being forced on the thumbnail and no option to zoom out all the way, this is a very standard option to have, the listings look cropped in the search result viewed on a mobile phone, and in my listings window too.

I've been seeing photos zoomed off and on recently.
It must be a test.

It certainly spoils the aesthetic.
