hello, I received such a message, does anyone have information about this?
"Hello, my name is Jackson, I'm the bot in charge of security. You have received a complaint that you are a scammer, in order that your account was not blocked send me your name and surname, as well as your e-mail.
You will need to be verified today, in the worst case your account will be blocked.
Send me your first name, last name and e-mail!!!!!"
Es una estafa, ten cuidado.
Total scam.
The scammers are out in force today. That is very similar to the message someone else posted about earlier. Here is a link to that thread https://community.etsy.com/t5/Providing-Great-Customer-Service/Etsy-support-bot/m-p/143364677#M29259...
Bottom line...it's a SCAMMER not etsy. Etsy does not need your first and last name or your email address, they already have it from when you signed up.
thank you
Lol..a bot is an automated software app not a person..they are not named "Jackson". Put that message in your spam folder and do not reply.
Oh H-LL no! Glad you did not click. These fools get on my last nerve. Also, please read the Etsy Announcement (top of Forum) re: Scams. There is also a notice about it in our Shop Dashboard (it directs us to the Announcement). Stay safe!
sorry, but this made me actually lol. sounds like Jackson is reading the forums. he should have said his name was HAL. yes, I'm old.
Perhaps "Mother".
Now I don’t feel bad for laughing. Those bots are getting to be downright bold little buggers aren’t they.
So insane in the audacity of it. But also the wording!
That's hilarious.
Jackson. Almost as good as "Mrs. Johnston Martha".
So ridiculous that I thought it was a joke at first!
Can this be any more obvious? Either scammers are getting desperate or new scammers are not too bright.
Scammers must have a list of things to look out for, too.
If the ''I can't purchase until I have your email address'' scam doesn't work, move on to Scam #22 -- Call the seller a scammer and threaten that their shop will be blocked.
Sadly, these things work or they wouldn't be doing them. I feel for all those that have been scammed but haven't come here to talk about it. For every 1 person who came here, there are probably 100 or more that don't and have been taken for a tidy sum.
Does Etsy allow disposable email addresses when registering? Maybe that's how they keep getting account after account. They probably have thousands.
I hope there is a special fire brewing for every scammer. I despise people who prey on others.
Ultimately these scams must work sometimes, otherwise they wouldn't keep coming back and trying. It's a scourge.
Oh wow! The scammers are getting quite creative now. We now have 'scambots'. Marvellous.
I just recently got a message regarding wanting to order 89 of a product for a photoshoot (if their business partner approves such a huge order) requesting free samples and the loss will be worth doing business with them.
@VibeEnvy That's awful and I'm sorry you received that Message. It's open season on Sellers with these jacka$$es.
*snorts*
Ya, I'm sure you'll want to jump all over that.
Lol! Jackson the bot! And I’m C. U. Inhell…..
No traction or action for Jackson.
No satisfaction nor interaction.
OMG that one is so bad is laughable. SCAM!
