September Workshop: Mentors and Mentees

Etsy admin send me a convo accepting us to the SEPTEMBER MENTORS WORKSHOP so lets go to talk about what we will do during this next month!

I am still preparing the participants list, so please let me know if you are interested posting here.

If you have any question do not hesitate to ask!

Please let me know which ones of you are interested to be in the workshop and let me know too your mentors skills (if you have) and your help needs (if you have). I mean something like this:

Mentor skill:
I am good in photography
I am good in SEO
I am good in....

And I would like to be a mentee because:
I need help in promoting myself,
I need help in, how to do xyz..
I need help in..

Not necesery to be both, you can only be a mentor or a mentee, depending your needs, or you can be mentor and mentee of course.

During September we will work about improving our shops in pairs, but we will talk about it later.

Please let me know if you have any question and who is interested in it! We have to send the final participants list before 30th August.

Remmember people that the workshop will last all september month and we will work about:

- 1st week (1st to 8th): Branding and photography focus
- 2nd week (9th to 15th) SEO, tags, titles, Getting Found
- 3rd week (16th to 22th) Promoting, social media, marketing
- 4th week (23th to 29th) Finishing Touches, policies & legal requirements

It is not necessary to spend here a lot of time but i will be very very very grateful if all of you let us know that you are alive. Only need to come and say something like "hi, i am still working on it!" will be nice to know that we are not losing our time helping you.

Eli- In addition to working with Krystal I will be mentoring Tanya Grubbs from Tannettes. To make sure I have the time to pay attention to my shop, this workshop, team, and other obligations. I will not take on any more mentees.. But will of course always be open to answering any questions anyone else may have.

Hello everyone! My name is Caitlin.. New to selling on Etsy and new to the group. (:
Possible I could be a mentee? I could use some help with legal requirements, promoting, and a few other topics.

I have just joined this goup and I find it really useful. I have been making jewelry for a few years and it has always been my hobby until recetly I decided to start my small business out of it.

As you can see, there are many mentees and we have only three mentors so I will check all your shops now and make pairs trying to put together similar shops or shops that I think that they can help each other.
Both shops will be mentors and mentees at same time, ok?
It is only a way to have other point of view than mine, so please do not worry for not having an experienced mentor because i will tell all of you all you need to do step by step. Don't panic!

Of course i know you can't be here everyday, everyone of us have our own life but i would like to know that you will come to have a look and make some changes during this next first week.

I am NOT going to send you convos everyday to let you know the news, if you are not going to come here learning and improving your shop please don't ask us to spend our time on it.

I would like to let you know that i am here to help you as much as I can and it will need more hours than you can imagine. It is a pleasure for me, i promise, i am happy to help all of you for free as much as i can, but what i am not going to do is spending my time trying to help someone who don't follow the steps or only come here and run without reading what I explained or writing us some news to let us know his/her everyday improvements. I hope all you can understand it.

- Please, let me know with your confirmation what camera do you have (reflex one will be apreciated) and which photo edition computer program are you used to use. Both are completely necessary this week.

- If you have the oportunity to install Adobe Photoshop, please DO IT. That is the only photo editing program i have and i can't help you about it if you do not use this one. But if you have another one and you know how to use it, thats perfect!

- Start to prepare an outside place or a place near the window where you can take pictures. Some A3 white cardboards, papers or similar will be always helpful. If you do not have it, lets go to find some fast!

I am used to using adobe photoshop (i have v.8 installed on my pc) & I also have a Canon DSLR.
