I'm Eric owner of Wild Wild Wares. I worked in the tech industry for 25 years as a web designer and then a product manager. On the side, I taught myself photography and later gave up the tech world to get a degree from Austin Community College in photography. I'm looking to make another change as an entrepreneur. I decided to apply my creativity to a health kick where I began hiking to get in shape. And hence Wild Wild Wares was born.

I'm an artist/designer out of Nevada. I studied art in California and in Florence, Italy. Due to the whole needing money thing, most of my career, I've been an executive assistant or some form of assistant and my art has always come second. I've been determined the past couple of years to get my art up and running, so first I started posting on Facebook, now Instagram, and finally at the end of last year, I opened up my Etsy shop. While I hope to eventually sell physical products and physical artwork, right now, I've got digital coloring pages and digital planner items up on my Etsy, with hopefully more to come. I am about to give birth to my third (any day now) so I'm pretty busy outside of work and art, but I am hopeful that I can make a success here on Etsy.

Hey all! My name is Sean and I own silk city woodworks. It’s a new venture for me after discovering a love for carpentry while remodeling a triplex I bought last year. 

My main focus is creating furniture and home goods that are practical, affordable, and high quality using modern techniques. I spent the entire summer dismantling an old building and now have a huge stock of super high quality hardwood from the 1800’s. 
Marketing is my weak point for sure so learning and improving daily.

For marketing, I suggest looking up a high quality furniture company in your area and try to see how they market their products.  I assume you're furniture is like selling a house, car, or high end appliances.  It's not about selling a lot of products cheaply, but selling a quality product at a premium price.  So, you will spend more time educating customers about your furniture and why it's better than something mass produced.  You'll need to cultivate relationships more than "salesmanship."  And find little ways to add value so they come back for more.

Also, here's a simple template I use for marketing.  The key to marketing is answering these questions:

1) Who are my customers?

• How old are they?
• What gender?
• What are my customer's interests?
• Where do they live?
• Are they educated?
• What kind of jobs do they have?

2) Where can I find my customers?  Are they on Facebook, Pinterest, Instagram, elsewhere?  

3) How does my product help my customers?

Once you know the answers to these questions, you'll know what to do and where.

Hello!

My name is Silviya and I opened my shop in December. I'm still exploring and finding my way in this new journey. I enjoy creating and decorating planners. I recently started designing clothes, too. It's a very interesting process and I'm glad I stated it. I still have a long way to go until I make my shop successful. But I'm researching everyday and looking for thing I can improve. It's great to see how many people are trying to grow here and I hope we can all help and support each other. I hope one day I'll be able to sell some of my items successfully. I have Sylvester Gallery on Ebay (watercolor prints and originals for sale).   I recently changed several of the products from 15% to 20% for promotion expenses (20% to Ebay).

Is this worth it?  Does it pay off at all?  Any noticeable difference in sales for anyone else? If it does not make any difference, I will spend the money outside of Ebay to advertise.

@SylvesterGallery Personally, I haven't found advertising within sales platforms to be helpful.  I do much better bringing people from other sites.  Even paper flyers have been more effective.  But, that's my experience

Thanks Mike.  I have about 300 watercolor paintings on both Etsy and Ebay.  I have the selling prices exactly the same.  
I have sold about 3.5 to 4 times more on Ebay than Etsy?

Maybe because people want to make a bid? I know Etsy now has that option available which I signed up for but most buyers don't know they can bid on Etsy.

Hi I’m Jodi. I’m a mother of 3 and I struggle with chronic illnesses and mental health issues daily.  I stated doing art about 10 years ago while I was hospitalised for a short time about 10 years ago.  I’m self taught and love to watch others create great works of art.  I decided to start my Etsy shop in 2022 to give myself a purpose and to try and earn enough money to cover art supplies for the kids and myself and so far I’ve only really earned enough to keep my shop open without it costing me money.  But I have since published my own colouring books on Amazon and started my own website so I’m hoping this will make a difference in our lives eventually. Thank you again for having me and any help is always appreciated and if I can help anyone else I will try.

Hello everyone! I've only opened my Etsy shop a few weeks ago. I welcome any criticism and feedback I can get. There are so many talented people selling here, and I'm thrilled to be a part of it. I'm Greek and live in Germany. I've been painting for as long as I can remember. I never had formal training, but I love it, and it's an integral part of my life. I enjoy taking photos when I feel a connection to a particular place and then translating it onto canvas with my oil paints. I have been a member of Etsy for over 2 years and it is extremely difficult to talk to anyone there? I have simple questions about how the programming works and other issues promoting my store. 

I have the same exact products on EBAY and can talk to them 24 hours a day. 

Does Etsy have a phone number to talk to someone?
One of my questions is how do buyers know they can bid on my products if they want to pay less?  
I signed up 6 months ago to allow buyers to bid prices lower than what I was asking on Etsy and it has never worked.

I am not sure to contact and how to do it with ETSY.
