I still live with my parents. I simply can't afford to move out. But I do do my fair share around the house. I do my own laundry, I pay my wa; contirbute to bills, food etc, I cook the family meal every other day, I clean and even do a spot of DIY. But I hate it when I hear my mum moaning on the phone saying how much she has a hard life and that I do NOTHING around the house. It is such an insult!
Uggggh I'd hate that Katie. Never had the issue myself, I moved out when I was 17, my dad and I just butted heads too much, and cos we're both stubborn neither of us would budge lol Also why I'm fiercely indie now, which is sometimes my downfall ;)
@ Kelly, my mum isn't too bad. She just exaggerates and is abit of a drama queen. Most days she is fine and can't live without me. But she'll get on to the phone with one of her friends and plays the 'whoa is me' card and 'how awful her life is' and uses me as one of the reasons why. Its that what I find really insulting. I wish I can move out. I need way more money to do that! lol!
A few things, mainly because I was up for 21 hours yesterday because of work and a sick nephew and I've lost my ability to be stoic and cheerful this morning.
1. I feel like I have a nice shop, well done products, and reasonable prices. Yet I hardly ever make a sale, and I don't know how to drive more business.
2. I understand a HUGE part of that is getting enough inventory so that you'll be driving more people to your shop via searches and other things like new item posts on teams and treasury lists. But I have been so busy with my full time job and my family that I have had a hard time being able to make the time for my products.
3. I would have had hours and hours last week, if I wasn't working on a specific commission. I finished it, I've been trying to get in touch with the person who ordered it, and no response whatsoever. Wasted hours, money out of my planned budget for my trip next week, and a smaller shop because of it.
4. My traffic has gone way down on my shop, which is understandable since I have fewer new items (although I do relist). But I have even noticed that my treasuries are not being looked at... even the artists are not commenting for a thank you, and based on view numbers, I think they don't even bother to look. I just don't understand why I went from at least 50-60 views each treasury to 10. It is bizarre.
5. I leave for Vegas on Sunday, and literally don't have any moment to spare until I board the plane. I don't even know when I'm going to pack because of how insane my schedule is and all I want to do is clean my house and take a nap.
6. Also, working in a hotel as a concierge is very annoying if you decide you hate people that day.
Ok, rant and vent over. I'm sure that with more sleep I would be able to deal and have a healthy perspective on all of this, but I just don't know when that will be. Agh!
My vent for the week is that our new office doesnt have internet yet. We live smack in the middle of IL and our little town, well, lets just say technology is not in the forefront of industry here. So I have to keep hopping from the office to home to print or list anything. Driving me nuts. I guess its a good thing the weather has been nice and its only 8 blocks away!

@ Andi, wow that is annoying! Great excercise though! lol! It is amazing how everyone has got used or relies of the internet. If it is gone, what would we do??
My rant:
I was asked by a former uni friend to make her a pearl/ sparkly charm bracelet, we agreed the price £15. I made it, took a photo and made a reservation for her on my shop. A whole week passed until she finally responded, and she wants me to add more charms to it. I said yes thats fine. But it is so annoying. The reason is hasn't got as many charms is because of the agreed price of £15. Technically I should say, 'yes I can do that but it's going to cost you more' but I can't be bothered to wait for a whole another week just for a response! All the time I am waiting for her means I am out of pocket. It is incredibly annoying. I am going to add more charms, but not my really nice ones, as I am not making any money from it then! I know they are friends and they are showing support, but sometimes them being friends makes it worse! They seem to have higher expectations and demand more. This comission has now taken 4 weeks and it is still not completed.
ARGH!!! Finally moved my printer to my office since we finally got our wireless up and running and now the stupid thing wont click through the screens to print! ARGH!!!!! I am SO going to go Office Space on this thing. Where IS my baseball bat?
...ARGH!!! Now after I have improved the bracelet for my comission.. she just emailed me saying, 'Thanks, I'll buy it on the weekend. Are you going to charge delivery?'
I just joined you guys, is it time for a rant yet? Well, here goes anyways I work part time for a national bath products chain. They've instituted a policy now where they want every customer's email so they can pester them with 20 emails a day. We're not supposed to take No for an answer. I wonder what the company would do if I barred the customer from leaving the store until I get their email or maybe I'll start crying if they won't give me their email address. I can cry on demand. Actually, if the customer says no, I might just make up an email. The company doesn't seem to care as long as you put in something.
LMAO SMH!! That sounds like the hotel I use to work at (I went to school for hotel mgmt, so I've worked at a few). They implemented the same type of policy. I use to say eff it and just made up whatever I felt like.
I hate it when people ask for my email address because my husband is native american AND a techno weenie so he made the email domain N8iv.net Shoot me. I have to spell it and make sure they use the "8" instead of "ate".

Anyone else take just a deposit? All my orders are custom (for the most part) so all my orders are paid upfront. Is is different for other kinds of crafters?
