I've seen it done both ways... full price or at least 50% (which should be covering your costs and a bit more) deposit. Crap way to learn the lesson Katie, but at least you know better now!
Can I do a rant against Circles? I hate them. I really don't care to see who liked what from other shops or who added who to their circle. Anyone else feel like I do or am I the only party pooper?
I am pretty frustrated trying to understand why my shop orders come in the way they do. I'll get 5 orders in a day and then nothing for the rest of the week. I promote promote promote all over the place and I just wish I could figure out the arbitrariness of it all. I am not complaining about the orders I do get but it actually seems the more I ignore my shop, the more the orders come in. What is up with that?
Yeah keep ignoring it if it works! I have noticed since changing some of my pictures I am getting more views. Still waiting for the ladies to pay for their bracelets..... ARGH
I hate it when I go through the trouble of creating a custom listing and someone doesnt go through with it. I know they dont have to but why request it and then not follow through?
Neither of them have paid yet. Despite them both sayign they will on the weekend. Well it's monday and still nothing! I Have sent them an email each. One responded apologising and saying they are having a view paypal issues, the other, well, she probably won't respond till the weekend...I know I made mistake by not taking a desposit, but they are people I knew from Uni, it is so crap and highly frustrating. I am trying not to take it personal!
I need another kid. Just for this week. Mine is climbing the walls, literally of the soap lab and I am going to be bald by the end of the week. Did I mention its Spring Break. My youngest just cant entertain herself even with the apple tv, netflix and $100 worth of art supplies and books. Shoot me please!

Oh I have been through the teen years with all three of my older daughters. This youngest one just turned 9 and she is the sweetest child really and not usually needy but she just cant seem to entertain herself while we are at the office, Just wants a friend. sigh. My PMS is not making me a very sympathetic mom but I am sending her to camp tomorrow. HA!
Sounds like my mom when I moved away for college, she cried when I left (even though I had only moved 3 hours away), then had a "freedom party" the next weekend. L M A O !
My brother still was finishing HS at the time, but it was her "1 down, 1 to go" party.
Snagged another kid to keep her company today. Tomorrow: camp! Feeling much better already but the orders are stacking up! YIKES! I was here until 11 last night working. Guess thats a good kind of busy!

The thing that makes me sad about Etsy in particular and the internet in general is that people seem to be more interested in tearing each other down than building each other up. Oh well.

And you're so right Andi, people (in general) are just out for themselves these days and think because they cant physically see the people they're talking to it's ok to be rude! I just can't be like that... well unless you're attacking me and then you're fair game ;)
