my customers are not allowed by Etsy to review my product once they have received it. I have a tracking number and it shows they have received it. When I mail the package, it usually gives an approximate date range for receival. If they receive it before the last date in the range, they have to wait till one day after. Example: date range for package to be received is May 10th through the 25th. If they receive it on the 15th they have to wait until the 26th. I contacted Etsy through chat and was told they needed the item number. I gave it to them then they said the buyer had to contact Etsy so they could figure out what the problem is. I asked why the buyer? It is my Etsy shop! And I also asked how many people do you think are going to take the time to help figure out why Etsy won't let them post a review? I told the person on chat that it was BS! How can I get help with this problem? It has happened to the last two customers I mailed to. It didn't happen before that. They want us to get a gold star but won't let customers post a review upon receipt of the item?!!!!! I don't care about the gold star program. My shop is small with 50 sales. Anyone else have this problem? Would love some help.
That is how it works, unfortunately. The window to review opens only after the last date of your projected delivery date.
Yep... I feel your pain.
I'm happy when I get a message from a buyer who lets me know they love the item they just received but, for some reason can't leave a review even though they tried, or the review window isn't open yet.
I just reply with a relevant thank you message, (to avoid the late message police), and then let it go.
Sometimes a review pops up later, sometimes it doesn't.
Etsy changed that some time ago because people were leaving bad reviews before the expected delivery dates.
Thank you I did not know they changed their policy - Marie

I do the same - thanks for your reply - Marie
Frankly, I'd rather have no review that a bad one that says "I haven't received it".
Etsy will send the buyer a notice when the window opens.

Has this improved in the recent months? Can buyers now leave a review once they receive the delivery? Does Etsy send a notice to the buyer that they can now leave a review?

This shows you that Chat Support doesn't always know how things work on Etsy. How frustrating.
Hi I have literally just spoken to Etsy about this same problem. It seems ridiculous, I appreciate that they shouldn't leave a review before receiving the item, but as soon as the item is marked as received the facility should be there. I wondered why reviews are low! If you are not a regular Etsy user you are unlikely to come back to leave a review about an item 2 weeks later. Also if you are a guest you cannot leave a review period. Honestly there are some things with Etsy that are not good, I do not understand where all the fees we pay go? I thought they went to a team of staff to continually improve the technology, interface etc etc. Reviews are SO important to small businesses, good or bad to be honest - customer service is what this selling platform is about, not just making money.
so what did etsy reply? therr are so many with the exact same problem that one should imagine they'd try to solve it so it's ok for everyone.
