About once a day, I message each buyer after they have placed the order, going through them one by one, letting them know when their order will ship and item information, as per Etsy's best practices. Recently, when I'm done writing a message and clicking back to orders, it takes me to the top of the order queue. Then I have to scroll all the way down, find the last buyer I messaged, and send the next message to the buyer below, only to repeat the scrolling after each message is sent. Does anyone else experiencing the same thing? Any fix?
I am having the same issue when clicking on orders to message them, it scroll back to the top and I have to scroll all way back down again to the next order. So frustrating. Just started happening yesterday.
Edit, removed quote from Etsy support for confidential reasons in TOU
Yes, its a wonder more people arent't reporting this same thing. Is there any good workaround?
Same problem here. I thought it was just me. I think I'm going to stop trying to sort issues out when I see them and start coming here after the first issue. Jumping cursor? Mostly fixed. Now this weird scrolling thing. It's annoying but I suppose if it was the only thing to cause more work (and a load of confusion) for me, then I'll consider it a decent day.
I have tabs set up for the processes; New, Process, Working, Holding and of course the Completed. Now I just move the order from New to Processing once I've messaged the client or Holding if it requires a proof or needs more information, etc. That at least stops the page from going back to the top since I'm letting it do just that.
Thank you for posting about it!
How do you set up tabs?
@TastefulArtisan
I would like to know how you're setting up tabs, too. The scrolling is making me CRAZY! I am sooooo weary of etsy messing things up. Can't they find programmers who KNOW what they're doing???
OK... setting my rant aside... are you setting up tabs INSIDE etsy? or using a browser? I'm ready to try anything to move beyond this scrolling!
AHA!!!
I just did a little poking around and discovered something I had never seen/noticed/used before. On the orders page there's a little "pencil". Click on that and it lets you create progress steps (I'm guessing a step = a tab). My brain hasn't wrapped itself around how to use this to defeat the scrolling, but I'm thinking on it pretty hard!
@SewlyButtons Your already have two of the steps by default. On your (desktop) Orders And Shipping Page, it should say 'New' and 'Completed' with an edit link pencil glyph. Click on it and a popup will allow you to add / reorder / customize the progress steps. Tabs is perhaps not the best word even if that is what they technically are.
@SewlyButtons Thanks! Never spotted that pencil before! That will help a great deal in the meantime!
Yep, same problem here as well unfortunately. Quite irritating.
@TastefulArtisan thanks for the tip re tabs. You know I'd never actually looked at altering/adding to them. I guess you get into a habit of doing things in a certain way
I've used them for years, ever since they were introduced. It makes knowing which step an order is in since we are more than 1 person and it stops me from having to micro-manage. lol
Glitches always seem to happen on weekends. I am convinced no one at Etsy works on weekends, only bots. Report the glitch through "Help & Contact" and then wait at least until Monday for a fix.
We've been experiencing this as well since Monday--although it may have started earlier (we don't normally pack orders on the weekend). We also write our customers preemptively, so this is definitely disrupting our workflow.
Yes Ive reported it to Etsy, fingers crossed for a fix soon, its SO annoying!
Same issue here! It's really annoying!!
Same issue, it is so annoying! Please fix soon Etsy!
Me too.
I'm seeing a glitch in my "Review Your Purchases" or "Purchases and Reviews".
I was due to leave feedback for a couple of Sellers since July 22, but I'm unable to do so because I keep getting a message that says, "sorry were having trouble loading your recent purchases".
Hopefully this glitch will be resolved sometime in the near future.
Yup! Extremely frustrating. It’s taking way longer to pack orders
Same issue, it is so annoying!
Oh! Now I see this! I was checking the tracking on recent orders, and each time you click to open a full receipt - to view messages, tracking - whatever - it goes back to the top. Such a pointless change, and I'm sure very frustrating for Sellers with lots of orders.
Sheesh, Etsy! Touch grass. Can't you leave the user interface alone for two seconds?
This started yesterday for me. I hope that it isn't another permanent fix like a current message being attached to the last message that a customer sent which could be years old.
Same issue here. When I click on an order to message the customer the page scrolls back up to the top of the page. Then I have to scroll back down to reach the next order.
Its happening to me when I try to add a link to a response in the forums eg if I try to post a link to How to add Policies as soon as I try to copy that link if jumps back to the top, and I gave up trying after the 4th attempt.
Same here. Etsy please fix this...
Probably the best way get Etsy's attention is for enough sellers to contact them by chat, email or phone. They dont take much action from forum posts
