I just started running a small business on Etsy. This week has been very smooth. As of today, my account has been blocked. I sell game files and there are no violations. I see other sellers have no problems. Only mine has been suspended.
Trademark infringement are laws (not silly etsy rules) and etsy has to follow the laws. They won't be complicit.
@MonopolyAustralia: Did you bother to read the thread at https://community.etsy.com/t5/Technical-Issues/Not-able-to-login-account-says-permanently-banned-no-... before posting?
You need to include the licensing information for all of the trademarked and copyrighted names and images in your shop in your listing, otherwise buyers (and Etsy) may conclude they are counterfeits. And a buyer could file a not as described case against you and both get their money back and keep the item. Including the licensing information will show that you are not selling those items illegally and people in the forum will be to help you.
We are not supposed to help shops that are breaking the law or Etsy rules.
The fact that there are other shops selling similar items only means that they have not been caught yet. We only see the shops that have not yet been caught not those that have been.
It appears that Etsy is doing a sweep of counterfeit Monopoly listings. You aren't the only one who was suspended.
You were selling trademarked items. Hasbro owns the rights to the name Monopoly. Others have just not been caught yet.
Even the name of your shop is problematic. Monopoly is trademarked.
There is another post currently by another seller who had their shop shut down too over Monopoly.
You best be looking at another line of product to sell, something non-infringing.
There were at least 5 other Monopoly shops complaining in the forum about getting shut down in the past 2-3 weeks. Now 2 in one day? Progress.
Except they also need to find somewhere else to sell in addition to a non-infringing product, as their ban from Etsy should be permanent.
There are still many that remain!
It's like whack-a-mole.
New sellers see the banned items and think "Tiktok told me that I could sell this on Etsy!".
I reported like 20 of them tonight, trying to give them a nudge to go a little faster. I feel it was a productive 3 minutes spent.
Nope, you aren’t the only shop to get closed today. It looks like Monopoly had enough of all the copyright and trademark infringement going on and did a sweep. Did you have a license from Monopoly to use their name to make money? If there was no license then what you were selling is considered counterfeit items since they were not authentic Monopoly items.
you're #2 for me tonight. Didn't know it was a thing.
and it is an illegal one, so clearly there's a sweep going on.
Your items are NOT ALLOWED on Etsy.
They are not:
Handmade by YOU
A Supply to make crafts
Vintage - over 20 years old.
I suggest you actually read the Terms of Use on the next venue you try to sell on.

Just as an additional note, it is against Scoply's Terms of Use to sell Monopoly Go stickers.
No matter where you go, they are NOT ALLOWED to be sold...
Here are the actual Terms of Use banning you from profiting commercially:

"I sell game files and there are no violations"
I'm pretty sure there are nothing but violations.
It's like selling World of Warcraft gold = illegal.

Maybe you could try forging a Get Out of Jail Free card?
@TheVintagePineapple Oh, you are so clever, lol
