i can’t add a new default billing card for my shop. every time i try to add a card it says “there was an error processing your request.” all my information is correct and follows my account. i had an old card on there before but it expired a long time ago so i removed it and now it won’t allow me to add a new one. yet it allowed me to connect my bank account for payments.

very stressed because i can’t receive my sales until i have a billing card connected.

edit:

i have contacted support multiple times and they’ve told me its an issue on my cards end called my bank and they said no communication has come through from etsy. i have reached out multiple times throughout the last ten days and they do not respond.

@SouthwestJewelDesign   What exactly happens when you try to add the new card.  Does the information remain or does it disappear?  Have you gone out and then come back in to make it the default.  Did you click on add a new card?

If you are getting paid then the old card is still valid.  Did your bank completely close down the old card?

Do you have any information from mobile banking for the old card that you can reenter and the add the new and make the new the default?

I am having the same issue! My previous card was hacked so I had to cancel it. I've tried for 2+ weeks to add my new card, both in the app and on my laptop (using different browsers as well) with no success. I have contacted Etsy support twice and am still waiting for a response! Must be on their end. I have no issues using this card anywhere else.

Curious what it will take to get this resolved. Very annoying!

I am having the same issue. My card was compromised so I ordered a new one and now I cannot update my payment account. I've tried both on desktop and mobile and just keep getting the error message over and over again

I am also experiencing the same issue. In the process of getting all accounts changed over to my new card and Etsy's billing page will not even load for me. Multiple browsers tries, several devices. My account even informs me that I need to add a new card, but the site will not let me.

Hi,

Did your issue get solved? I have the same one, had to put my new cc info and it seems impossible, keep getting "an error occurred" message.

Thank you!

@devoutgodevil Same thing for me also. Etsy's billing page will not load. Just keeps spinning. Multiple browsers tries, several devices. My account even informs me that I need to add a new card, but the site will not let me.

It's June 2024 and I have exact the same issue. Seems nobody at Etsy support is capable to help. Horrible.

Thinking to move to Amazon Hand Made.
