We're giving you 40% back on Etsy Ads

ETSY reached out to me with the 40% back on ETSY ads until the end of September. As good as that sounds ALL ETSY RECORDS OF ALL MY PAST EXPERIENCE WITH ETSY ADS have been erased by ETSY and no record of my history exists. So has ETSY made off with my money and produced NO ADS at all or is this a NEW technical glitch? Before this happened I was able to rely on ETSY to produce a reasonable history of my paid ads including numbers of views, ads, and orders from ads but no more. If you pay for ETSY ads look at your details they are now gone completely.

Just curious, is this technical defect something the new ETSY CPO (chief product officer) Nick Daniel implemented?

I see deatils for my ads.  But my items are current and when sold I never make another so my ads are of short duration.

Currently the graph is not working so if that is what you are refering to, it seems to be one of Etsy's usual glitches.

Maybe tomorrow will be better.

I have just checked and @SurnamePro seems to be correct. I do not have any 40% discount on Ads offer. But I also have no "historical data" showing. I can see Ad Spend for individual Items if I Filter in "Manage Advertised Listings", but there is NO  "overall spend" daily data, and I have to further Filter the "Spend" column to see spend on individual listings.

Certainly, the first Etsy Ads Performance Page (Graph Page) is not updating at all and it does look like all past data has been erased. The Graph Line is flat, even if I select "This Year". But detailed data is still visible if you drill down in "Manage Advertised Listings" and filter the "Views", "Clicks" or"Spend" columns.

Let's hope this is a technical glitch as it would be a PITA to have to manually sum up Daily Ad Spend every day!!

Me too. Nothing. It's like ever since they made the announcement of 40% off total Ads spending for Sept my graph has been wiped clean. I just posted in Managing your Shop category (probably wrong place!). I see I'm not in the boat alone. (sigh)

Our 40% Off offer is just a paragraph on our dashboard, no banner there or on the ads page.

I have a new Etsy shop and two older ones, this Vintage Christmas shop being one of the older. Only the newest shop has received the 40% Off Discount offer, a bit frustrating as I'm a star seller in both of my older shops. Why not have this offer for every Etsy shop?! Hmmmm... more Etsy stuff .....!

I didn't get the 40% offer, but my graphs are fine.  The only place I can see my daily ad spend is in my Payment Account section.

I’ve the same message, but I didn’t add ad budget, and the graph is okay…but since I click “no thanks” for the ad campaign,  my view drops 60%, and I have zero sales  ( I normally have around 4-12 sales/day, and I haven’t had any zero sales day for months).  And I remember the last time etsy gave 10% ad back to seller, something similar happened, but not serious like this time. It just makes me think the 40% is actually for saying sorry “sorry we will mess up your as from 16th to 30th, so we pay you back 40%, please don’t get too mad about it”

@PepperTail  :  Perhaps you are correct, but we just increased our ad spend so that after the 40% off our out-of-pocket is the same. Can't say that we see any positive effect. Based on some of the other threads in this forum, one has to wonder if a downturn in views and sales is due to other factors.

After reading this post, I dug a bit deeper into my ads/ spending. It appears that I’m being billed up to 40% more than my budget for click through ads.
