We have been a seller on Etsy since July 2023. We recently reached the Canadian revenue threshold for starting to collect GST. We decided to incorporate our business at the same time.
We entered the information on the Legal/Finance page to switch our account from a personal account to a corporate account and instantly Esty put our shop on vacation mode. We followed the instructions to upload our corporate documents - with a response saying they will review in "2-5 business days". It's been over 2 weeks now and no response.
Our customers are asking what's going on and we have nothing to respond except to point the finger at Etsy.
We are losing money daily (and so it Esty) and need to get this resolved ASAP.
Anyone have any ideas on how?
"Etsy - keep commerce human" - what a joke..... no way to contact anyone....
UPDATE - magically, a couple days ago, we started receiving orders. No communication from Etsy saying everything is approved or anything. Looks like we are back in business!
For the others who are in similar situation - use the call-back number above and voice your frustration to the person who calls. It took 2 calls for me, but things finally got approved.
Use Contact us under Help to send an email. THe first reply back will be generic. Reply back with more information,
Since your request came in around Easter I suspect many of the staff arranged for time off which may be why the delay.
Thanks for the info. We uploaded documents on March 15th - well before any holidays started. Also, I don't see anywhere on the Contact us page to click on sending an email.
1. If you browse to https://www.etsy.com/help/contact and choose the closest option to your issue, after you've selected a few options, a grey "I still need help" button will appear - try clicking on it to access e-mail support.
2. Alternatively, you can request a callback. See if this link works for you: https://help.etsy.com/hc/en-us/requests/new?segment=selling#issue_sell_manage_listings-callback
3. Are you still able to access the Legal/Finance page while your shop is in forced vacation mode? If so, can you toggle back from an incorporated business to a sole proprietorship? This change might reopen your shop. However, I recommend consulting with Etsy support before taking this step, as I'm unsure how it might affect the ongoing verification process.
For a public company, Etsy needs to do better when it comes to seller support. Send a letter to their ceo or cfo, and see if they would care to respond. I don't remember if they are on the NASDAQ or the NYSE.
Thank you @AlainsBlacksmithShop - the phone call request worked - I received a call within a minute of making the request - first time I've ever talked to anyone associated with Etsy. The person I talked with could see my whole case/email string and has escalated my request to the appropriate team - so hopefully we can get our shop back open soon. thanks again.
Well - 3+ weeks now and no progress. I have contacted Etsy Support via the call-back link above - twice. There seems to be nothing that the call-back department can do - it's "been escalated" to the Trust and Security department - but there is no contacting them.
We continue to wait..............impatiently.
We are having the same problem for months and cant seem to get anywhere losing money as well.
sorry to hear of your similar frustrations @Shop1091 . I sure hope that the issue gets resolved for both of us soon.

What is the phone number?
@beccasdesigncorner: "What is the phone number?" There is no published phone number for Etsy support / customer service. I believe the reference was to requesting a call back https://help.etsy.com/hc/en-us/requests/new?segment=selling#issue_sell_manage_listings-callback
I've been trying to get Etsy to verify my business details for MORE THAN A YEAR! I've received dozens of useless template responses and ZERO help. I just sent a rolled up "HELP ME!" banner to their headquarters because I don't know how else to get any help.
My account received only one sale before being suspended by Etsy. They asked me to upload an ID document for verification, so I submitted my driving license. After more than a week, they informed me that my birthday did not match the one on my driving license, I replied with my correct date of birth, but I have not received any response since then—it's been almost three weeks now. All the seasonal festivities are over, and still, no one has replied to my email.
I don’t know how to reach the support team on this platform.
"Etsy - Keep Commerce Human" — what a joke. There’s no way to contact anyone. I completely agree with you
