Does anybody else have this issue? I'm trying to re-list my listings that Etsy expired on April 1st to correct the expiration error (the listing did not expire on its own). Every time I get an error message that the listing can't be saved and tells me to contact tech support and provided an error number.
I contacted tech support via chat. They told me that they'll contact me by email and not contact them again via chat - they will not respond to my messages.
I renewed some this morning.
If the listing is really old, might have something to do with things that changed in the listing form between the time when the listing was created and now.
My suggestions are to scroll through the listing very carefully and look for things like 'when was it created', shipping profile (might have used an old one that isn't available any longer), etc.
If the above doesn't work, remove the attributes. I had a listing that for the life of me I couldn't get to publish. I was getting one of those red pop-ups that said to contact support. A day later, I got an email from Etsy saying that sometimes it's the attributes. I removed the attributes, and it published. (Variations is an attribute so it was a pain to recreate those).
Good luck.
Are you using a browser?
I am using a browser and a desktop computer.

"Now, it provides an error number and refers you to the tech support. Why waste everyone's time? Do it the old way, Etsy."
Perhaps they think if they just wish really, really hard that some sort of seller support will appear out of nowhere.
I had 2160 listings expire on April 1st. What happened? They were all paid for and were on automatic relist.
Glad I could help.
When I had a stuck listing not too long ago and contacted support like the pop-up told me to do ... I got the form letters (pretty worthless since I had other things to do besides sit on a stuck listing.) The email was more helpful and in my case it did turn out to the the attributes ... their form letter could have told me that right away!. Sigh.
Sometimes just copying the listing will purge the old info and updates the listing to the new format.
This happened to me too. 89 of my listings that were not due to expire suddenly showed up as expired on April 1. Getting help and answers from etsy is so difficult that I decided to just comb through them and choose ones to renew. I worked on doing that yesterday and and took the opportunity with each one before renewing to make improvements. I was able to renew them. But, not knowing why this happened - maybe I am somehow in violation of something with these particular listings - I de-activated those. I sent a help request to etsy and will give it a few days to hear anything back. I am not optimistic though. It's usually a black hole. If I don't hear anything I may just go ahead and pay the $.20 each to renew certain of the listings. I've been selling here on etsy for 15 years. It has gotten insane in these last 5 or so.
I too had over 1000 listings expire on 4/1. Pretty costly to renew them especially since they were already paid.
Has anyone figured out what’s going on here? I’ve had thousands of listings expire on April 1 and they were all set to auto renew, this is insanity!
Same here! It will cost a fortune to renew them all!
@Working925Jewelry You got an email with a full explanation
Here is a long thread about it from 2 weeks ago that may help.
(this nested in the wrong place but won't let me post it in the correct place sorry)
I get so many emails I didn't see this one. To be entirely helpful to this thread, I am pasting the email I received.
Hi "",
We recently uncovered a bug that kept some of your listings from expiring every four months as they should. This means you were never charged the $0.20 renewal fee for "" of your listings.
You don't need to do anything, and you won't be charged past renewal fees for these listings. In order to correct this issue, we’ll need to manually expire the "" affected listings in your shop on April 1.
While you don’t need to take any action, if you'd like to keep these listings active past April 1 consider turning on auto-renew for all your listings at once. You can view your affected listings in the Listings section of your Shop Manager—they will appear at the top with an expiration date in the past.
For more details on how to renew your listings, visit our Help Center.
We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
Thank you for being a part of our community,
The Etsy Team
This only affects listings that never expired due to an Etsy bug.
Etsy set the expirations date to April 1 and the listings expired on April 2. (At least mine did).
They are in your expired listing folder.
You can renew them from your expired listings folder at any time. And they can be renewed with either automatic or manual expiration settings.
566 of mine, already set for auto-renewal and HAVE been auto-renewing! Their bug, but we have to pay for it. Again!
Were you getting charged for the auto renewals? The bug was they were just staying live. Mine had long past "good until" dates on them, but Etsy in March changed all of those dates to April 1 so that would no longer be visible.
You can set your listings to manual renew. It's easy to do with the bulk edit option. In your listings page click on the square on the left. It will show a list box from which you can check all the listings on the current page or all the active listings. Click one. Now select bulk edit. In the bulk edit box select renewal options. Renewal options will show check boxes for automatic or manual renewal.
I hope this helps.
I set all my listings to manual renew about once a week to make sure they're on manual either because I forgot to check this when listing or renewing and because sometimes listings seem to revert to automatic.
As far as the Esty error that prevented listings from expiring long past their expiration date ... Etsy did not charge for the extended periods so it was a unintended benefit for a long time ... some of my listings stayed live for years. And when Etsy corrected this bug, they did not automatically renew all the listings, they expired them, leaving the choice of when to renew to sellers.
