Trying to resolve an issue with Etsy support.

Jump to solution

Etsy deactivated a listing saying it wasn't handmade.  I have been back and forth with support and they finally agreed it was handmade but could not reactivate that listing but I could post it again using the same image.  I tried that more than once and it kept getting deaactivated resulting in a final notice from them due to repeat violations, that my star seller badge is being revoked and I would be suspended if it happened again.

Once again, I contacted Etsy and talked to a different person who said I needed to take a new photo of the item (which was a crocheted hat made by me) and be sure to not use the same images.  I explained to them that the first person I talked to said I could use the same images which has resulted in a final notice frrom them. I explained that it wasn't my fault and could they please reinstate by star seller badges and take away that final notice as I am paranoid they are going to flag another handmade item and my shop will be suspended. They keep saying they will forward to a specialist, but the specialist just says there is nothing they can do.

I am going in circles now and noone from Etsy is listening.  I have spoken to Chat, Zetsy, specialists and everyone just sends me this canned response telling me to review their policies.

This is so frustrating.  Some AI or bot has flagged my one listing as not handmade.  I have done a reverse google search on the hat and can't find it anywhere else.

Now, my star seller status is gone and it is not fair as I really did nothing wrong.

Is there anything I can do?  Has anyone had this problem?

Many sellers are posting similar issues in the forums. This extension was listed in another thread to use for reverse image searches. Supposedly it can find images when Google or other methods ca not. Maybe try that to see if it shows where a stolen image may be?

Also, what is Zetsy? That was mentioned in another thread.

That first chat person misinformed you. That's horrible.  I'd continue trying to get Etsy to fix it.. Josh has said these issues are easily resolved in 24 hours which is such a lie. Unless they consider blanket denials resolution.
