Those affected by the This Item Not Available in your Region -

Many posts about this glitch - I haven't seen this in my shop yet, but in doing a bit of research on shops with listings affected, I've found the following -

* These listings show in shop search, as well as Etsy search - so they are not "deindexed" in the the usual sense.

*Once clicked on the thumbnail, it shows the error message "Sorry, this item is unavailable in your region"

* All the ones affected that I checked still show in the mobile Buyer App (the orange icon) - and you can click to view, add to cart, and (presumably) purchase.

* The glitch / bug applies to the mobile browser / desktop site - still shows "not available" when trying to view.

There doesn't seem to be anything Sellers can do, but if you happen to get a message from a Customer who intends to purchase, ask them to fave the item, and try viewing it on the mobile Buyer app.

Any other observations, comments from chat or support?

I contacted a shop this morning after I came across this in their shop and it appears they fixed it by basically creating a new listing and expiring the offending one (which was only a couple of weeks old). Seems to be working now but having to pay for a new listing just doesn't seem fair to me.

Just a thought - has anyone tried deactivating / then reactivating one of their affected listings?  This is a workaround for de-indexing that can happen after vaca mode, even though the present problem doesn't seem to deal with deindexing. (and yes, it's so bad that we have to figure out work-arounds, when Etsy can't even acknowledge an issue).

Yes I have deactivated and re-activated.  Still the same.  If I delete then I will loose the reviews associated with then listing.  Super frustrating

You cannot even access your OWN listing, you get the same message. I just chatted with support and got nowhere. "They will look into it." "Some items are restricted due to governmental rules". Nothing that even applies to my listings and what is happening!!  Iam actually crying! And during a supposed sale too.

I also contacted the chat support.  They very rarely are able to resolve problems & they escalate which is so frustrating.  I will receive an email in a few days most likely with no solution other than deleting and adding my items again.  I loose the review associated with each item.  There is a promo and these items are popular in my shop.  I may deactivate the problem listings and add new ones.  I will reactive the old ones if Etsy is able to resolve without deleting.  AHHHH

@MyOverstuffedAttic:  Have had no trouble accessing my two listings.  Just updated one of them from my desktop computer.  Are you trying to access them via a mobile device?  If so, try going into the listing from your desktop as that should work.

Etsy takes forever to get back to you via email.  By the time they finally do the issue will most likely be resolved.  I would try and let it go for now.  I know it is stressful, but it does no good to feel bad.  Just accept it, hope it changes & try and have a good day.  I have a shop on Ebay as well.  The support is much better than Etsy.  They actually take your call and seem to be able to resolve issues without escalating.

Etsy doesn't empower support workers. It feels mostly like they're there so Etsy can say it has given sellers customer support. Now we have the opportunity to chat or get a call from Etsy in addition to waiting several days for an email from support.

Reading through the reviews, it sounds like a bot is blocking certain listings because of nudity, etc. But, my item is gingham bubble shorts.  A kids item. Why is my item not able to be seen??

@FunStyle It appears many of the effected listings are family friendly.  This programed algorithm has also targeted some none skin related listings without humans in them as well. What it does not seem to be targeting is listings breaking the law or pornographic listings.

I just researched further. It seems to have only been 3 nude Barbie dolls that this has happened to so far. The rest of the dolls are fine. I would edit them if I could only get there!

It actually seems to be most of your undressed dolls, except the one where you show the back view as your first image. Viewing on a tablet, using Chrome.

I am able to see all of your naked dolls on desktop. I'm in Canada but have my settings on US.

Thanks. I have a few posters showing acupuncture point locations on a nude male illustration. I think that is why they were blocked. They are smooth like a Ken doll. It should not be a problem. Waiting for support to get back to me.

The bots are going to be looking for certain things and it seems like they may be hitting on cleavage, nudes, and certain poses.

I'd bet the nude Barbie dolls aren't being shown because of that announcement about child safety.

A bot can't tell the difference between a nude doll and a nude child.

I can see the nude Barbies in @MyOverstuffedAttic shop but if I click them it shows up unavailable for my region. I also posted the above info on child safety on the thread you started.

I sell printed pillow covers, flour sack tea towels, etc., nothing to do with the child safety.  I have several listings that this issue is affecting. And worse as of yesterday some of the listings being affected were in over 20 carts.    and now they can't purchase!

Have your customers purchase via the Etsy App on a smartphone that still works. I had a customer do that for now.

I spoke to chat just now and it appears to be linked to this new policy enforcement bot flagging items as "mature"

However,  it is completely missing images using live child models.  And based off another post, the bot is also missing actual porn and mature photos.

They supposedly are aware of the issue and are working on it according to the support chat.

I guess dirty panties are deemed child safe then, as they are still being sold here.
