Technical issue

Hi everyone,

I run a vintage shop here, hence all my items are unique pieces, a vast majority of them come in just 1 copy unless it's a deadstock series.
In the past 3 months, I have sold many items a second time as their listing was mistakenly renewed by Etsy after they had sold out.
I have gone through the whole myself a couple of times, and cancelled many, as I knew they had sold out, but I offer 1000+ pieces, so obviously I don't have all in mind.
Obviously I couldn't honor the orders, and had to send a refunds to frustrated customers and apologies galore.
Needless to say, none of these customers ever came back for another purchase; the prejudice is huge and I can't get a straight answer from Etsy as to whether I am being charged for the items that have been renewed by mistake.
Etsy has admitted there had been a problem and assured me they were working at it, but it is still going strong and wrong.
I used to do a happy dance everytime I had a sale, especially in these challenging times, but now all I do is shiver: "do I have this item or was it sold before?"
It's a disaster.
Anyone has the same problem?

Kind regards to all,
Em

@DoowopVintageStudio: "I can't get a straight answer from Etsy as to whether I am being charged for the items that have been renewed by mistake." Your Payments page https://www.etsy.com/your/account/payments will answer this question.

Re: Technical issue

Many of my products are one of a kind. In my completed orders tab items are marked with 'Sold out' in a red banner across the thumbnail image. The first thing I would do is scan through your completed orders and make sure everything has that. Then continue to watch as items sell to stay on top of it. If it does not have that banner, then you were almost undoubtably charged a relisting fee.

You COULD delete the sold out listings unless you somehow have a stash of more "One of a kind" listings. That way they don't get accidentally renewed. If you want a record of what you sold, save the sold listings from your emails into a "Sold items" folder.
