Star Seller due to Postage Stamp

I sent an order in an envelope with a USPS stamp and marked it shipped. I’m a digital seller but my customer needed some small wood balls.  Although it was marked shipped there was no tracking because of the stamp and now I no longer a Star Seller. I think this is a technical problem. Finding the cheapest way to help my customer and I get dinged. I’m hoping someone on Etsy can look into this so I can get my Star Seller back. Thank you

You could have purchased a first class label through Etsy ($.57) and shipped that way. It's not true tracking, but it fills their requirement.

There is no option available to buy a first class label for .57cents.  I ship decals and I usually have to put stamps that I purchase from USPS.  I have tried to ship and I get a message for a flat envelope and everytime it tells me there is no option for my 6x9" flat manilla envelope.  I don't even see an option for a first class anything.

That's how it works. Manually marking something shipped does not fulfill SS criteria unless you can add a functional, accepted tracking number

Yep, definitely not a technical issue.

Not a technical issue. Read the info in ship manager and it's all there.  A stamp doesn't count and never has.

I must be missing something on how important this star seller status is. I'm sure buyers don't give a toss because as a buyer I didn't. Reviews, reviews, reviews.

If the envelope dimensions were too thick because of the wooden balls, the mail piece wouldn’t qualify as a letter. This could be why the option isn’t coming up on Etsy’s shipping label page. I mail flats all the time but when I tried to mail a typical order as a letter, Etsy said nope.

You can read the Star Seller rules here @ https://www.etsy.com/starseller where it clearly says ...

Adding tracking to all physical orders is one of the criteria for Star Seller if you’re in the US. If you mark an order as complete without adding tracking, it does not meet the requirement for Star Seller.

Make sure to use some form of tracking in the future. That order will eventually fall off and as long as you meet all the requirements, you’ll be a Star Seller again some day.

Its usually a good idea to  check the date of the OP in threads. This is a zombie thread from 2022 and admin will likely close it.
