Hi Etsy,
I was penalized for not including tracking information in a customer's order. However, I manually entered "Other" and "Digital Delivery" into the listing to complete the order. There were no physical items to ship, as the purchase was to upgrade the customer's shipping to Priority Mail Express.
Why offer "Other" as an option if comments are not acceptable? Please work to fix this. Many sellers work hard to maintain their metrics for Star Seller. Issues like this are incredibly frustrating to the Seller Community.
Thanks,
Allison
@ThreadsandHoneyWhy offer "Other" as an option if comments are not acceptable?
Because "Other" stands for other shipping couriers. It does not stand for other shipping methods such as "local pick-up" or "digital delivery". If you select "Other", you must still enter a valid tracking number.

Questions? We’ve got answers. -> Shipping -> I’m a US seller, but offering tracking is not always possible on my orders. If I’m unable to add tracking to an order or indicate an exception, will it count against my Star Seller eligibility?
Adding tracking to all physical orders is one of the criteria for Star Seller if you’re in the US. If you mark an order as complete without adding tracking, it does not meet the requirement for Star Seller.

@ThreadsandHoney: "There were no physical items to ship, as the purchase was to upgrade the customer's shipping to Priority Mail Express" If you generated a Priority Mail Express label you could have used that tracking number, but why would you need a shipping label if there was nothing to ship?
"Why offer "Other" as an option if comments are not acceptable?" Because it is an acceptable option for completing an order, but for Star Seller a tracking number (or Etsy label) is required for any non digital order. Two different metrics each with its own requirements.
