Forum Responses Not Nesting Right & Search not Matching on Etsy Vs Shop Vs Listings Page

This has been happening for a few days. When I click "Reply" under someone that commented on a forum Post (NOT Reply to the OP) my response shows up under a random person's post that also responded to the OP. If I do a normal new reply to the OP, my response might be as it should be a new thread under the OP OR it might then nest itself under someone else's response to the OP.

So, I keep having to try to repost my response by replying to the thread started under the OP and then it STILL ends up in the incorrect position or I give up and leave.

Anyone else having this happen?

I'm also experiencing other issues with my shop where searching within my listings by a specific key word I'm getting different results among my shop's home page, searching on my listing page and searching on Etsy and filtering by my town. "Bottle Openers" are showing up under results for "Wine Boxes". Bottle Openers aren't showing up under a search for "Bottle Opener" but then might show up if I search on the listing page but might not. Then on Etsy if I search by relevancy for "Wine Box" and my town my "Bottle Opener" shows up first that won't show up if I search for "Bottle Opener". It is like it is 100% blocked by the key search term "Bottle Opener" but is not a "Wine Box" and is the #1 relevant "Wine Box" listing when searching and filtering by my town for "Wine Box". I don't even know what to say. None of the counts nor items are the same. It is like I'm playing Yahtzee crossed with a matching game and someone threw everything is a box and said we are also adding in Bingo, So..."Figure it out". Good luck finding your products by relevant search terms...

So, maybe my shop is in a full blown bug filled test. Worst I've experienced in 9 years... Best seller won't show up by searching for it by what it is, but will show up if I search by what it is not.

A Forum setting fixes the nesting issue for most people:

The issue has been noted in numerous threads recently, so many people experienced it. (I did not.)

Search has been screwed for months if not longer for me.   As a buyer it's frustrating let alone a seller.

The forum fix is at least easy but needs to be done.   It seems like that could be a pinned announcement as right now, it's just word of mouth.

Hi, I know we all get different search results.  But I did a Search with "personalized bottle opener".  Used no filters (I normally don't).  Four of your listings were on Pg. 1 (one of them is an Etsy Pick).

I went back and searched for "personalized wine box". Again, no filters. On Pg. 1 there were 25 of your listings.

Again, I know we all receive different search results.

ETA:  My posts weren't Nesting properly.  I changed my Setting to what is in the link that ChristmasIsLove posted

Re: Forum Responses Not Nesting Right & Search not Matching on Etsy Vs Shop Vs Listings Page

Thank you, however, this is exactly like what Etsy would respond with. "other items can be seen"

What happens with the best selling car is put in the garage at a shop and it sells 500x better than all of the other cars? Traffic and sales drop.

When my best selling item isn't even found under the search term that leads to sales...I've got issues. I drill down/filter to try to figure out what might be causing an issue. When then I can't find that item by the search term I'm using and the number of search results differs in my shop than in Etsy's main search...something isn't right. Typically, it is a test or a glitch.

I normally know when this is happening when suddenly out of the blue the items that typically sell stop selling, traffic drops and revenue drops. The other red flag is when items that rarely sell, get traffic and sell, but only make up for my lost normal sales by about 25-50%. My conversion rate also has crashed at this point down to 0._%.

So, not being seen by specific search terms for one product even though other items might show up can have a huge impact on a shop. Typically, it is a test. I think the test shut off for two days and then started back up today. I had an influx of sales from my "best sellers" and now none have sold since yesterday.

It stinks...how can one manage inventory when Etsy has no predictability all due to their internal tests.
