Star Seller Rating Issue

Why are sellers punished with low on-time shipping/tracking scores due to local pickups (no tracking). One customer ordered multiple pieces of china under two Etsy orders. The customer opted for local pickup vs. shipping and we respected the customers request. Since we don't have tracking for the two orders, our monthly score dropped from 100% to 71% This appears to be a flaw in Etsy scoring metrics. I reached out to Etsy support, and they stated nothing could be done, and stated in chat "you can always improve your score next month". How do you improve 100% customer satisfaction?

Being able to track delivery is part of the star seller requirements

Etsy does not offer local pick-up for SS they say they may offer it in the future but not sure that will happen

What if I offer local pick-up or delivery for my items?

At this time, orders that don't have tracking because they are delivered or picked up in person will be considered shipped without tracking, and will not meet the Star Seller criteria for shipping.

Only Etsy can answer that question, but we all need to remember that there is a difference between what we may think is right or wrong or how things should be and the rules that Etsy has chosen to implement. For Star Seller, only the latter matters - it is their marketplace and they get to set the rules.
