My shop banner has disappeared from my shop until I log in, and then it is there as usual. When I log out, it's gone again. Anyone else noticing that? I assume no one else can see my banner.
I'm not experiencing this. I tried logging out on a desktop and viewing my shop, and I can still see my banner either way. I just checked your shop and I can see your banner.
Thanks for looking. I just came back to my computer, and banner still not there until I logged in. Weird.
I can see your banner using my desktop and Firefox.
Thanks. It just seems like I can't be the only one, but it's good to know it's still showing up for those who see my shop.
I can see my banner, but a friend said they couldn't see it today and I then checked with my daughter and she couldn't either. I've raised it with Etsy, but interesting that it has happened to someone else.
@LornaPearcePottery I see no banner in your shop
Okay, mine was still missing just a little bit ago - so I decided to clear my cache, which I have been neglecting to do lately. So - at least for now - my banner is back even when I am not logged in.
An alternative to clearing your browser cache - do a hard-refresh to bypass the cache. For most browsers, you do a hard refresh by hitting Ctrl-F5.
I don't see your banner, nor mine, wither, when signed out.
Signed in, I see them.
I also see that latest activity version at the top of shops when not signed in, and it disappears when signed in.
Shop announcement moved between items and reviews; I see the announcement moved there signed in and signed out.
It looks like they're playing with the shop home layout again.
They mentioned this in the recent What's new on Etsy article:
I noticed these changes when looking at my shop incognito
- No banner
- Latest activity using three triggers: Made a shop announcement, Updated their shop policies or Added an item to their shop*
- A new Price sort filter with four price range options
- Shop announcement moved from the top to underneath the listings, above the reviews
* I don't understand the thinking on this as none of the three triggers serve to indicate whether a shop is active or busy.
@cindylouwho2 wrote about it in one of her blogs
Cindy, I checked your shop incognito and it now correctly shows "On Etsy since 2008".
@DaysofYoreTreasures Interesting, because I can see a test in incognito, and it does not have the date I opened at all, other than on the About page.
Also, I have been very active in my shop but it only counts the last time I updated my shop announcement almost a month ago. So completely useless.
Oh, I thought the year was wrong in your About section last time.
@DaysofYoreTreasures no, it was wrong at the top, which is a field they seem to have removed in the latest test I have seen.
Once again today, not signed in, I see no banners on any shops.
Signed in, the banners show.
Can anyone see my banner now? It's odd that I can see it whether signed in or not, but some others couldn't. Etsy's suggested solution was to clear cache and use a different browser - the same solution they suggested for a previous issue related to the listing form - but I can't see how that would make any difference as it's other people who can't see the banner, not me? I'd really appreciate it if someone could check.
Thanks
Yes, I see your banner. Nice shop!
I noticed that on mine yesterday. I was going "WHAT????!!!" and getting frantic, but then it appeared when I signed in. Weird. Don't do that!!!!
Thanks @ButterflyFeetDigital . Good to know someone can see it. Several people I know still can't, so seems weirdly random.
I would just report it to Etsy - they are pretty good with getting on top of "incidents"!
From what I am seeing on my laptop, our banners show to anyone signed in to Etsy.
I tested 3 different browsers- Microsoft Edge, Google Chrome, and Mozilla Firefox, and the banners are not there when not signed in.
I don't like the layout without the banners, with the nonsense about the seller's latest activity.
