Hello- I have an issue.  After 100% shipping rate I was surprised to see my scores dropped down to 88% after my latest order was shipped without tracking.  I think it is very unfair to be penalized for no tracking when you ship outside of Etsy but if you pay for your shipping label through Etsy tracking is not required.  This drop in my shipping now disqualifies me from making Star Seller this quarter when everything else is 100%.  I reached out to Etsy on chat and requested a supervisor after having 2 chats and being told to hold on for a supervisor before they ended the chat.  They said a supervisor would reach out by email but I have not received one as of yet.  On the Chat with Etsy they said they couldn't do anything to correct the issue.

I ship outside of etsy, and enter the tracking codes myself by hand. You are only penalized if you don't have proof of tracking.

If you buy an Etsy label it comes with tracking and auto-fills in the tracking number on the order. You statement about "if you pay for your shipping label through Etsy tracking is not required" is not true.

Not all the labels on Etsy have tracking.  I am shipping from the UK and I am able to purchase a label on Etsy without tracking.

My point is that either tracking should be required whether you are shipping outside of Etsy or with in Etsy.  But if you can ship with Etsy without tracking and not get penalized then you should not get penalized when shipping outside of Etsy without tracking.

If you use Etsy Shipping, Etsy knows you've shipped it. If you don't use Etsy Shipping, Etsy has no proof that you've shipped so they don't believe you have, unless you provide a tracking number. Simples.

I just reached out for a similar issue but because I hand delivered the package to a neighbor (and so didn't have tracking/shipping label for this order). I'm so frustrated because I reached out in a first chat to get their help to mark it as shipped in the backend and even then, it marked me down to 80% just because it's an edge case

At this time, orders that don't have tracking because they are delivered or picked up in person will be considered shipped without tracking, and will not meet the Star Seller criteria for shipping.

Yup exactly - it's one thing that they don't count towards the Start Seller but I wish it wasn't counting "against me" for the tracking and rating part. I wish it was just n/a or something like that.

Hello there,

As of the moment, tracking metrics don’t account for local pickup, shipping without tracking if not in a market with an exception(below £10/€10/CA$15/AU$15), or in-person delivery(Square). All physical orders must include a valid tracking number or a shipping label purchased on Etsy to be counted positively towards the on-time shipping & tracking. 

Please know that Etsy understands that Star Seller may not be viable for every shop. Star Seller is not a disciplinary program and sellers will not be penalized for low scores. Additionally, having the badge doesn't give sellers an edge over other sellers in search ranking.
