SHOP SUSPENDED/TAX ID

So tired of not being able to get our shop open due to Etsy asking us to update our taxes. We have entered ALL of the information and no one is there to help or to RE OPEN our shop!! Its driving us crazy as we are missing out on potential sales. No one usually replies to your email until 2-3  days later. Every time Ive chatted or emailed with someone they just say they arent sure how long it will take to get this fixed but "someone is working on it". No. Its been over two weeks now and I've seen all of the discussion boards on here about this issue and it seems like a huge problem that Etsy needs to fix because they are making their sellers upset. THE PEOPLE WHO THEY MAKE MONEY FROM. It makes no sense, Like come on, someone figure this out please so we can help each other out!!

PLEASE #ETSY fix this problem. We have been selling for almost 3 years on your platform and this is our main source of income. If they have all of the legal documents then they should be able to update them so they are correct for their platform. WE NEED HELP ASAP!!!! PLEASE!

I, too, am very disappointed with Etsy. My shop was suspended on April 5th (without warning) due to missing taxpayer information, which I immediately uploaded and provided. (I had not needed a 1099-K form last year, but the email I received about the suspension indicated I would most likely need one for next time, as sales have increased.) It is April 17 and my shop is still suspended. I have spent hours trying to reach someone to help with this.

Update: I eventually received the same email many of you had, stating they didn't know when the problem would be fixed, but then in a few days my shop was back up and running. So, the shop was suspended for about 22 days. Hang in there everyone!

Seven weeks now! Yes, you read that correctly, SEVEN WEEKS. I have lost out on so much, Easter, and now Mothers Day.

I think Etsy should refund us what we would normally make because it’s our shops have been shut down at no fault of ours.

So upset! I just opened shop, had my first sale, and now have a few people waiting to pay on their custom orders but are not able to do so because of this. They never sent me an alert that I was missing my SSN until after I made my first large sale. I uploaded immediately but they deactivated all my listings I spent weeks posting. This is so discouraging reading how so many of you have waited MONTHS for this to be fixed. I called all morning, and was reassured that the tech team is aware and that someone is working on this. Customers are waiting to place orders, shop owners are waiting to make the sales. This is so messed up !

Same, it’s been two weeks and I can’t sell. I already had my tax info in when I set up my shop. I updated again and it’s been two weeks. Just got off the phone and yet again they are repeating what they told me two weeks ago.

I've Googled this issue and it seems the only people who know about it are those of us on the Etsy platform. Maybe it's time to take this outside of Etsy and make it known to others? Maybe that would light a fire under Etsy's a$$?

In the meantime, I guess I'll try #ebay or one of the others. I thought #etsy would be the right choice, but man, this is crazy.

Stuck in limbo, too. Day 16. No help from Etsy. I am sitting on SO MUCH merchandise that I've spent thousands of dollars making and prepping. Easily lost $500+ in sales for being down over two weeks.

Absolutely heartbroken. I hope for all of our sakes that it is resolved soon!

I hope me email will help someone. So I have 2 ETSY shops, both were suspended for about 3 weeks. First got unsuspended sooner than the other. No word from ETSY I just wake up one day, and the shop is up and running. Just hang in there, and wait. I used to call every other day, I placed a "suspended account claim"... I cried, and was ready to close the shops.... Your day will come. If I was you I would work on removing anything that is trademarked. Check your tags, descriptions and titles. Watch YouTube videos to learn how that works. It is very confusing, but if you are serious about your business you 'must' follow the rules.

Was your shop suspended for not having your tax name  match your tax I'd (in my case my ss number) They tell me mine is verified, but a technical issue is keeping it from working. I hope one day I wake up and mine will be unfrozen as well.  Glad you are able to sell again. It gives me a little hope!

Same, now over 3 weeks for me.  I have started to transfer some of my listings to Ebay because I am losing hope that they will fix this in a timely manner.

I'm getting close to the point that I need to verify and I'm getting worried. Is it that you have to verify tax id when you make $500 in sales? We could all jump ship and go to another platform like goimagine. They don't have etsy traffic but if we took our regular customers with us we could grow their customer base possibly. I'm new here but I'm starting to see that etsy isn't the best place for handmade. I've been off to a pretty good start but if they are going to just suspend my shop with no explanation I need to make preparations ahead of time.

Unfortunately,  this is when my problem started as I reached the sales threshold and went to add my ss#.  It is correct and matches my legal name.  Etsy even told me it was verified, but just a software issue.  It is a shame, because some of my listings were just getting traffic and sales.  Now after 3 weeks, I feel alot of my work will be lost.  Hopefully you will not be affected.

I'm about to hit $500, from the looks of it, just about every person who hits this threshold seems to be hit with this. I wanna get prepared before they shut me down and maybe move somewhere that has more support for sellers?
