Refunds on Taxes

It only allowed me to click technical issues for this.

Anyways, I have a list of refunds I refunded. Once I issue a full refund Etsy will deduct the full amount from my Etsy Account and give it back to the buyer. After that, Etsy credits me payment processing fees, listing fees, and transaction fees. Also, the sales tax is a positive number on my statement so they credit me the sales tax as well. It appears as a credit on my account.

When we put refunds on the schedule c for deductions, do we include the full price of the refund or do we take out the sales tax?

Example: 19.40 which includes sales tax of 1.00

Would I put on my schedule c deductions the 19.40 (with sales tax) or the 19.00 (without sales tax)?

Re: Refunds on Taxes

The sales tax goes back to the buyer, not you because you never had it.
