I have checked other posts to see if anyone had this problem. I thought I remembered a post a while back, but cannot find it.
ISSUE:
For a while now, when I get messages sent from a buyer, I cannot see the message. I only see that so and so has sent a message. But if I get a message that is a (help) issue, then I can read it. This is causing me multiple steps and a lot of wasted time in a day because I have to go to my PC to sign in as I do not sign into Etsy on my phone to respond to messages. However, I do appreciate being able to know if I need to attend that message right away. It would be nice to see what it is. I have been here for a while, and this just began happening one day in Etsy Land for me.
I do get all of my messages sent to my phone, and there should be no reason for this to be occurring. It has been going on for a month or so. I have checked all my account features to see if it is on my end and cannot find anything that is clicked off. As I said, I do get all the messages, I just cannot see any message because that part is not being delivered to me unless it is a Customer needs help issue.

Etsy made this change after a many-months-long attack by scammers who were pretending to be buyers interested in a product but wanting to talk off Etsy, or pretending to be Etsy staff and including links or QR codes to take the seller off Etsy. Lots of new and/or naive sellers were scammed out of hundreds, or even thousands of dollars. By making sellers long into Etsy to see the message, Etsy can assure that sellers can see warnings and whether the message was actually from Etsy. So far, this has been quite effective since we are no longer seeing dozens of sellers getting scammed every day.

If you are referring to the eMail copy of the conversation this is intentional, presumably it is a reaction to all of the people who clicked on scam links. They see having to log in to your account to read Messages as a security measure.
Incidentally, the message is still included in the eMail, it is just included in such a way as to hide it from your eMail client.
Yes, the messages are no longer visible in the email notifications.
I do not sign into Etsy on my phone to respond to messages
Neither do I. But you will need to do this (either the brower or the app) if you want to read messages when you're away from your PC.
@Jaydlins Click on the notification in your email. When you get to their message, there is a place below it to click "accept message". Click that and their message will come up.
This isn't a glitch, its a fairly recent security measure. It's how all convo notifications to your email will now be going forward.
It's the same for everyone. It is a bit of a bother not knowing what sort of query is being sent without logging in. I guess it keeps us all on our toes!!

Adding, you should be logging into Etsy regularly anyway. Etsy often puts important and/or urgent information on the shop dashboard.
Thank you. I did not know this. It was an abrupt start to this and I thought it was me somehow since everything else came through with its message. including all of these responses. It is only buyer inquiry or continued inquiry. Thank you. I sign in often in the day and speak with people or do regular order development, but it was nice to see the message without having to do that. Thanks for taking the time to answer.
