Hello everyone!
Yesterday a potential buyer reached out to me, saying that he’s trying to check out but it says: «All payment methods for this shop are temporarily unavailable.» It was checked by multiple people, from different countries and that’s true, my shop can’t accept orders for some reason.
My bank card was verified, I provided all the needed documentation including Vat id number and my self-employed business number. Etsy didn’t suspend my account or send me any email reporting some issue. I’ve contacted Etsy support chat, they said that it’s engineering problem and I have to wait.
Customers are waiting and some are just choosing other shops. Holiday season is starting and I constantly feel nervous about it.
Did anyone have the same problem? What was the solution ? And it there a way to speed up the process?
I’d be grateful for any help.
Kind regards,
Anna
Hello @minsisart, I've escalated this to the appropriate team for you, so please look out for a response via your open ticket. As account issues can only have resolution privately, I'll close this up now with my best wishes. Thank you all for offering help!
In your payment options section, there are none, which means etsy has not yet verified you.
you say you have verified your card, but etsy doesn't verify cards, and you are in the netherlands, you don't even need a card
you need your netherlands bank account, in the payment section, that 's what etsy verifies
and your BSN, in the ADDITIONAL tax ID field, or your VAT number, in the main taxpayer ID field
and photo id
Yes, I explained it wrong I guess. I put in my bsn number(as additional tax payer id) and my vat id and business registration number kvk and my passport I also provided. By card I meant Netherlands bank account, that required Iban and bic and I also put that into my Etsy payments bank details and it was verified by making a small transaction.
you should only register as a business, with EU vat number
or
sole proprietor with your bsn
not sure you need both
...
did you let etsy know what the small payments were, and did they remove them again
@CraftyCornishMaids in the Netherlands it is both.
You need to register as a ZZP so need to enter your KvK number (business number) and as the VAT (BTW) threshold is so low, most will have no choice.
the bsn is a number like social security number, I thought
If we put a VAT number in, we don't need to put UTR or NINO in additional taxpayer ID
When in the Netherlands, I had to put both.
Your BSN and VAT (BTW) are separate.
You only leave this off, if you are not VAT registered
But then again, I also did not need to have a card on file, which is different to the UK.
It would be so much easier if it was all the same, no matter which country you lived in
When you received the small transaction, did you go back into your dashboard and put that amount in the verification section?
No, where can find verification section and what will it do? It was like 1cent taken to verify my bank account. And in the rules I read that it’s how you know your bank account was verified
There should be a button which appears in your financial page to enter this small amount, then click verify.
It takes 1-5 working days to appear from the time you request the verification
Did you click the request verification in the dashboard? I am sure they put a couple of cents in not take it out
Unless that is new also
I don’t see verification button anywhere, not on the dashboard or payment section. Nothing
Whilst you are waiting to be verified, I would mention on your new shop, your previous shop in Ukraine, so customers can see your wonderful reviews.
In addition, if you are having issues with the verification, request a call back and point the staff to your old shop. It is bad enough moving country without the additional stress that comes with moving your Etsy shop
Thank you so much. Yes, it’s super stressful and unexpected.
Thznk you for sending the link, I’ve been trying to find a way to request a call back. Unfortunately when I open the link it just says null null null al over. I enter my Dutch phone number and it just doesn’t go anywhere. Maybe you have another link just in case?
drop the 0 from the front of your number start with 6
That is the only way to try and get a call back, there is no actual phone number
Yeah, I tried it, but then the last digit doesn’t fit. Do you also see null null null and now other wording? Maybe that’s normal? And does it have to go further and open a new page with confirmation of my request or does it never change?
The null null null showed up about 2 weeks ago, so not sure how that affects the service but they have obviously not got round to fixing it yet.
You might have to try and email them or hopefully a moderator can be so kind to pass your details along for a call back

Click on finances then payment settings, that is were it should tell you "verified" if not there will be instructions
Thank you. It just says this

NL account ending in
I open this Etsy shop, already being registered as a business and having kvk number, vat number and business name -minsis.
My bank account number is bank account number for my personal Dutch bank account, because at that time I didn’t have a business bank account yet. Maybe that’s what not sitting right with Etsy, although they verified it and told me that the problem is not with it. What do you think? Also if I changed my bank details now, will it disrupt Etsy if they are already reviewing my case
Under the NL(bank account)
there should be a green tab saying verified
I had a business account, but still had to put my full name in the banking section (even though it was in the business name)
so that will not be it
If I changed my bank details now to my business bank account, will it disrupt Etsy if they are already reviewing my case? Or should I still try to cross out this reason for disruption of the payment ?
@thatregina would it be possible to assist this seller?, they had a wonderful shop in Ukraine and are now in the Netherlands. Issues relating to verification
