My star seller point on ''On-time dispatch & tracking'' was deducted for digital items

Hello, I'm selling digital & physical items. For digital items, I marked my items as digital items(no tracking) when completed order but why is the stats still include it? It's my 3rd orders now:(, is it a bug they haven't fixed  please help!

After checking the orders that is affecting your Star Seller, we can then confirm that they were listed as a physical listing. Please know that digital items that are created as a physical item will still require tracking or a shipping label purchased on Etsy because they are listed as a physical item. We encourage you to list them as digital items if they’re truly digital moving forward.

Unfortunately, those past orders will be considered physical items that require on time shipping & tracking. Moving forward, once you list digital download items as digital they will not be counted towards your shipping stat in the Star Seller dashboard at all.

You choose on your listing whether it's physical or digital when you set it up. If it's physical, Etsy expects that you will ship it to buyers. It doesn't differentiate within a listing. You need to put your digital items in a separate listing.

I don't believe this is a bug, that's how the system works. Etsy asks you what type of product it is when setting up the listings, there is no option to choose both digital and physical in the same listing, which means you have to set up separate listings for digital items. Using variations like you are is not going to work.

You have to list your digital files as separate listings from your physical items, so that buyers can manually download the file. Etsy thinks that when someone selects a digital file from your menu that is listed as a physical item that you will ship it. Even though you mark as as 'shipped' after you email the file, there is no tracking number so you get dinged against your star seller. Listing digital items for download don't get counted against star seller.

It was what i thought initially but until i saw this shop https://www.etsy.com/listing/1226863337/

It's a star seller shop with both digital & physical variations on listing. Anyone knows how does that work?

That shop might have enough physical sales to absorb the missing tracking on digital items and/or maybe they're not selling many digital items.

But you could message the shop owner and ask them.
