There is a new link in my dashboard that reads:
We’re here to help. You can chat or request a phone call from our team of seller support experts."
So just to test it I clicked the link and absolutely nothing happened. No live link just dead end text. Nothing happens. Standard ETSY practice I suppose. Too bad because SELLER support is very much needed.
Yeap same here. Nothing happened.
I guess they disabled it so we wouldn't get button happy.
Well, that is simply cruel.
IDK... even a non-functioning link to 'help' is more than we had yesterday. Lol! Baby steps...
Etsy links never work when they post them. They need several threads in the forums reporting that the threads don't work to know they need to do something about it. It is especially ironic that the link to support doesn't work as then there is no work to report this to support.
I didn't go looking for support rather ETSY added this option to my dashboard with a dead-end link that does nothing. Tried it again later and yes it does not work at all. So when, if ever, is ETSY going to offer support to sellers? Click here to (Contact Support) You see it didn't work for you either.
Just in case, I waited another hour, logged out then in and guess what. The dead end link still does nothing. Thanks Josh Silverman ETSY CEO your written message below:
"Message from Etsy’s CEO Josh Silverman" reads,
"The support you need: We’ll grow our support team by more than 20% this year so you can get help more quickly and easily, including faster email responses, expanded access to live chat, and prioritization of your most urgent requests"
Read all of it here:
Oh you bet I've read it.
He said it would happen "this year", which could mean late December.......
Honestly, it doesn't surprise me at all that the button doesn't work. Sadly I have learned over the years that new things etsy rolls out usually don't work completely, are full of bugs and/or just don't work at all. It's sad that broken is what's expected with new etsy things but it's just the way they do things. They still have help center articles with outdated info from like 2017 or so that they can't seem to update so some new broken thing should not surprise anyone.

You're right about that. But one "surprise" can be when you see Non-zombie Threads (fr. beginning of 2022), get "archived" (poofed). When Outdated and/or Help info still "lives" (and can be confusing to people); those who look for info.
It can be unsettling when we know that most likely there are glitches on a daily basis as it is. And to know the norm is: anything new rolls out, glitches, something else will be broken or on top of other glitches in general.
But I can see when new tools arrive, some may try them thinking that this ONE time, it will work.
(I don't have it on my Dashboard, but no matter).

Yes...all this from a "tech" company...SMH
Hopefully when the button does start working we don't have 1 million sellers clicking it "just to see it working" and it bogs them down so much they take it away again. Maybe they should have put the statement - Don't click the button unless you need help*
Good job! ha ha
ETA, I don't even see this on my dashboard, so it looks like it's another test run of something that may or may not arrive for everyone.
Yeah @leinweberstudio I don't have it either.
Same here.
The same here .
Maybe it is a joke , if so it is a cruel one
Just wanted to add that the button is working for me now. Takes me to the page to start a support ticket.
I don't see the button. Where exactly on the dashboard is it?
Its on my shop manager dashboard just under the stats overview boxes under the header 'Shop advisor'
Thank you.
Yep. I don't have it.
I had the same happen, click n nada! But just to doublecheck, I refreshed my screen and yes, it did take me to the Help Centre. And I think we all know that that is no guarantee you will hit the jackpot and find the right button to get you through.
Same here. Had to email for support. Button doesn't work.
I think it is deactivated, as there must be thousands of sellers right now
wanting support. And not getting it.
I was able to get an email through to Etsy support. They replied w/a book of trouble-shooting things. I know this is NOT an issue on my end. My messages are messed up, I can't renew listings, and cannot get the link for "request a call" from Etsy to work. They definitely have a technical issue going on. I responded to the troubleshooting message and politely said "I've done all of this and the problems are still persisting." I am still waiting on response, it's already 5pm on the East Coast so probably won't have any answers until tomorrow. If anyone has any other suggestions LMK!
