Hello. When I try and log onto my account it says prove I’m a human and it doesn’t work. I just called someone who says they are Etsy support from India. He wanted me to do several steps and then he hung up on me when I said it sounded like a scam. He said I had too many failed log in attempts but it’s because the “human” verification isn’t working.

Etsy has no phone number so they are not Etsy support.

Is that something new as I thought any shop could chat with Etsy support regardless of 5 star- seems anti seller support to bar shops who might has lost their 5 star due bad customers/ scammers?

@LacindaVintage: There is no published phone number for Etsy, so if you find one in a web search it IS a scam. Hopefully you did not provide them with any login information. You may want to consider changing your password just to be safe, and possibly enabling two factor authorization (2FA). If you do set up 2FA, be sure to download (and save somewhere safe) the backup codes.

answer a few screening questions, scroll down and look for "I still need help" - that should get you contact options.  If you were able to get into your shop, you would see the "chat" option now, in the lower right of your Shop Manager.  Good luck!

* Oh - and I'm with the others who posted before me, that Etsy does not have any published Support phone number, and anything you find on the internet is most likely a scam.
