Hello,
I’m new. I recently listed 6 products. All show as active. I’ve included tags and attributes. If I search as if I’m a potential buyer I can not find my products. I’m assuming I’ve made an error somewhere…..I sure could use some help.
Thanks, Frank
Etsy search results are a mystery, and often show unrelated items for what you are searching for. The search results also seem to be different for each person, so if they don't show up for you, they may still show up for other people. You can try adding a small sale to some of your items - even 5% discount to a few items to help you stand out. You will need to also add more items to your shop, ideally on a regular basis - such as weekly - to keep your shop fresh.
With so few listings your items probably will not show up in the first few pages. You need to promote your listings too. Social media is a good place to start. As far as tags go, use relevant words that shoppers would use if searching for your products.
Welcome to etsy and good luck!
Thanks

For what it's worth> no location, no shop policies, no indication of what type of wood is used, incomplete measurements(only 2 measurements are given> need LengthXWidthXHeight)....
@Chapter2Woodshop: You need to give up on the concept of Etsy search providing the results that you expect. Due to "personalized searches" there are many many factors that affect listing placement and the relative weight of each factor probably changes constantly.
You can NOT rely on anyone's search results (especially your own) to define how your listing is ranked. Even exact word matches to your title no longer ensure that you will appear in search.
You are also sabotaging yourself by having an incomplete shop - no about, policies, etc.
Additionally. with the current state of organic search, you need to initially drive your own traffic and sales so that the algorithm learns that people want what you are selling.
No technical issues here. Your shop is new and unfinished, so it will not rank high in search.
Please take your time to read Shop Critiques forum section. You will find very detailed and helpful comments on how to finish your storefront (title, location, sections, About page and public profile, shop members, policies) and improve your listings.
And yay, one of your listings is already in someone's cart. Good luck!
