Is Etsy's Shipping Data Base Functioning Properly?

I processed 9 orders yesterday morning (Sep 30), each one with it's own tracking number which was entered into each customer's purchase history.   All 9 orders were taken to USPS and hand scanned in by a clerk at 12:02.  This morning I get a notice from Etsy that my star seller percentage had slipped from 100% to 98% because of 8 order that did not have tracking. I downloaded the spreadsheet to find that Etsy's spreadsheet showed that 8 yesterday's 9 orders had no tracking numbers.  I checked my completed orders from yesterday and all 9 customers still showed the tracking numbers that had been provided 24 hours ago and there was even by now, USPS movement on those numbers.

I have been with Etsy for years and never had this happen.  I contacted CHAT support and that person told me to post the problem here.  I then called support and was told that the system just had not updated yet.    When entering a tracking number into a customer's history and order marked "compete", this should not be taking more than 24 hours to update,..... ESPECIALLY since Etsy is using this to rate our performance. 

If I had more orders yesterday morning, it might have been enough missing tracking numbers that I would have been kicked out of the Star Seller Program.  I got the notice this morning (Oct 1) that I am a star seller for Oct BUT shipping had dropped to 98%.

@JellyRolls2Go:  Etsy relies on a third party vendor for tracking (and tracking number validation) and uses the data on the order. Often recent shipments are not correctly / timely updated. Our experience is that a day or two after the package has been scanned the CSV file correctly shows tracking and shipment status.

Yes, I have found that also. USPS tracking, or "movement" does not always show up immediately.  What I am referring to in my post is that when you enter a tracking number into a customer's history profile (on Etsy)---and 24 hours later Etsy's data base does not show that this customer has a tracking number....then somethings wrong here.

Star seller stats miss the last couple of days of the month, stats for these days will be included in the next period, but were missed for the last period.

Etsy requires that tracking be scanned and that they can see that through their 3rd party program aftership. Because of this integration, yes it may take 24 hours+ to update the stats.

My shipping stats were always down when I used to take them to the post office and bought tracking there and then manually update the tracking to my order screen. Even with pPost Office tracking they would never show up as delivered on time on my stats screen

Once I just used Etsy shipping labels that supplied free tracking, all my stats went up. Use Etsy shipping labels, hopefully that will help you

I guess my post wasn't very clear.  I am not referring to the time a tracking number starts showing tracking. 

I am referring to once a number has entered into a customer profile and marked complete.  When that number is entered into the Etsy system (customer profile has a tracking number recorded) how come 24 hours later Etsy back end still does not have a number?

In the CSV? under tracking yes/no?

Because it's not looking at the actual tracking number on the order, it's checking through aftership that the tracking is actually real and not a made up number.

No, Etsys spreadsheet that they keep of your orders records the actual tracking number.

@JellyRolls2Go  :  This being Etsy and AfterShip, 24 hours may be optimistic. It never hurts to make sure that the shipped date, tracking number and shipping company show correctly on the actual order. That being said, there have been reports in this forum about issues with orders shipped on or after September 22, and we have experienced a few of those too.

I think my post wasn't very clear from the replies I am receiving.  I am not referring to the time in which a tracking number takes to start showing tracking. 

I am referring to the time it takes for information with Etsys system to communicate to itself.  Specifically, in this case: A tracking number is entered into a customer's order and marked complete.  Etsys records now show a tracking number and the customer also can see the tracking number in their records.   ETSY now has a recorded tracking number in THEIR system.  So, why at the back end of their system is there NO NUMBER for this customer 24 hours later???

I have the same issue for an order I sent out Thursday. Still shows in pre-transit on the Etsy site, but the USPS shows it out for delivery today. It may be due to the USPS tracking site being down for a few hours on Thursday, showing packages as "Not trackable". Site was back up again by midnight, but info doesn't seem to have updated on Etsy. In the end, I don't care about Star Seller... I care more about offering good customer service and that my customers can see when their packages are expected.

@JellyRolls2Go:  Are you looking at the appropriate CSV file or the actual order, or both? No argument with you about what should be happening and when, but I will repeat that 24 hours may be optimistic.
