So embarrassing! I uploaded the description file instead of the file of the actual product. Buyer reached out. I have made the correction. Will she be able to access the new file or will I need to refund her purchase and have her purchase it again?
I don't do digital but common sense tells me that if I re-upload an amended file with the same file name to overwrite a bad file, the new version should be available to download without any further hoops and jumps for the customer.
On Etsy it won't.
Whatever file was there when the listing was purchased is the one that buyer will have access to.
If a seller updates the files attached to a listing only new buyers will have access to the new files.
Doesn't that just figure.
OP - email the customer the fixed file. The email address is on your order page - click the buyer name.
Is it a digital file? Just email it to her. I would not make her repurchase. You want a happy customer, who doesn't have to jump through hoops to get what she paid for.
Her email is on the order.
