I'm trying to create new shipping profile for USA, but when I select "shipping service" as "other" I can't save and create it.It says "We could not update your profile". But when I select shipping service as a normal ones like USPS I can save and create one. I'm sure I'm doing everything correct but I want to ask how to fix or if there is a trick to fix this problem please help.
The first thing you need to do is declare your production partner in China.
?
@NanaLetha Production partners can be made private and only seen by Etsy. It no longer has to be shown to the public like it did in the past. Your topic is unrelated to the original post.
@SugarTaffySoap from the help center "We require sellers using production assistance to transparently share this information on the applicable listings"
@ElisyaCraft Can you tell me where you are seeing "Other" in the shipping service?
Shipping Settings > Create Profile > Shipping service. It is located at the bottom of the drop-down menu
@NanaLetha That's outdated.
I found the same info that @NanaLetha posted on this HELP link.
I searched for production partner and this help page showed up:
Working with Production Partners on Etsy – Etsy Help
Items produced with a production partner must abide by Etsy’s Creativity Standards. We require sellers using production assistance to transparently share this information on the applicable listings. Buyers can see information about any production partners you work with from your shop’s About section.
So not sure how that info is outdated.
ETA: @SugarTaffySoap I think you might be referring to this info on that HELP link about keeping the business name "private" BUT you still have to enter a "Public" title that is visible.
Sellers still have to disclose a production partner but "not" that POD's business name.
Instead of using Printify, a seller could use something else like noted below "Apparel Printer" or "Prints my shirts, cups"
@vintageNCtreasures thank you. I knew it was not outdated - you have confirmed that.
You're welcome. I knew that info wasn't outdated either.
I don't know when Etsy started allowing a seller to "not" use the POD name and have a public title though.
@vintageNCtreasures If you create a test new listing you'll see there's a check off area that says "Show This Production's Partners Name To Buyers". That's what I'm talking about. Sellers have the option to show it or not. And then there's other information filled out that is only shared with Etsy.
That is what is stated in that help article.
Sellers still have to disclose on their listings that they use a POD to make items they design but they don't have to have the POD's business name visible.
Sellers don't have to show the POD business name on their listings BUT they have to enter a public title that is "visible" to the public along with the POD location and what the POD does.
If I put Printify in the Production partner box and then I X out to NOT show the production partner's name, another box comes up right below that has this:
"Descriptive title"
"This will appear instead of the production partner's name."
@ElisyaCraft Which drop down menu? I have 6 options but there is no "other".
Its in the select shiping service drop down menu. There are also options like USPS,FEDEX,DHL and at the bottom of them there is Other. I will not use those shipping companies/services because of that I want to use my own shipping service.
