About half my posts to the forum won't post. It either says I don't have permission to post or all the Reply buttons are grayed out.
That sounds like what happens when you're not signed in. Also happens when you're responding in a thread that the mods have at the same time deleted or closed.

Yes, one really does have to learn to read the threads before posting.
Just this morning I read the whole thread, wrote my post and a mod closed the thread while I was typing. This seems to be happening more often, which might be a good thing.
Read the threads before posting? There are quite a few that don't even read the opening post before posting.
I'm always signed in.
I’d try closing my browser and then reopening it. But while at it I would go ahead and reboot the computer, too. It might help. It might not, but you won’t know until you try.
Have you tried refreshing the page? I have this problem if I have no activity for awhile.
Are your posts being removed? Do you see them at all?
Do you regularly clear your cache? If not, I recommend clearing it (weekly), then signing out, closing your browser, restarting your computer, and signing in again. The combination of all these often clears up glitches.
Entire threads are now being removed at an alarming rate. The great Etsy cleanup is now full in swing.
@Former_Member You're right, I noticed this yesterday. I was reading a new post which was clearly promotional when ... poof , it was gone! It had only been up less than 10 minutes. Moderators are actually getting involved a lot more !
Maybe Etsy has gone to paying by the piece? Like per removal?
But they are also removing threads a lot more lately where the op is a IP infringer or reseller and he is being told that it is wrong. So how on earth are new sellers, browsing the forum, going to know that it is wrong to do so?
They open a shop on the assumption that it’s fine because everyone else is selling the same thing and then come to the forum to see why their items got deactivated. We tell them and then the thread disappears. Other new sellers look to see in past threads, don’t find anything and it starts again.
@AAANativeArts that happens to me when I’m in the thread and type out a long answer and by the time I hit send the thread is gone.
I have this today. Not sure why was only a post about shipping nothing controversial
Could the Thread you speak of be fr. April or May of this year? Reason I ask, I've seen Threads fr. that timeframe "archived' (poofed), when the poster is still having an issue. The timeframe is much different fr. a "zombie Thread", but I have seen them poofed.
I've been in the middle of responding to an open Thread, and received that Message. Redisplayed pg. to discover Admin had just closed it (or "archived" the Thread, which means poofed it). But it has happened to me a few times.
I agree, unsurreptitiously poofed away. Happy weekend to all!
