Hello,
I have escalated this issue internally, and our team will be looking into it. I'm closing this thread to prevent further derailing, so please avoid posting multiple, repeated responses to a thread. Thanks!
EDIT: Hello @HeartofMePaperie. You are now able to log in as usual, and a member of our security team will reach out to you shortly via email with the next steps.
Thanks, y'all!
Someone HELP
You'll need to contact Etsy - we can't do anything for you. I ALWAYS have a copy of the downloadable codes so if anything happens I can still get in. You might want to do this in the future.
How do I contact them
How do I contact etsy
I can't contact them can't log in
Did you download and save the backup codes when you set up two factor authorization? If you still need to contact Etsy information is available at https://help.etsy.com/hc/en-us/articles/115013375488-How-to-Contact-Etsy-Support?segment=shopping Go through the maze can continually select "I still need help" including in any eMails you receive.
No didn't know how to do that
I can not log in to do that it sends me to login how can I of it keeps sending code to old number
Check your backup codes.
I can't only way I'm on is my cell phone
For God sake someone please help me. I can not login at all to contact etsy
@HeartofMePaperie How are you posting on this forum if you are not logged in?
I think this is a good opportunity to remind everyone with two factor authorization in their Etsy shop to make sure that they have their backup codes stored locally and they know where they are.
@HeartofMePaperie When you are able to log into your account again, immediately go to your account > account settings > security > backup codes. After regenerating the codes write them down on a piece of paper if you can't download them and store them somewhere safe.
That does
NOT help me KNOW
Your making me an example is NOT HELPING ME
@HeartofMePaperie You must be logged in if you are posting here.
I'm on my cell phone account for my shop sales if I hit contact it wants me to login again that goes to my old number
I'm able to see my shop replying to messages but again if I hit contact I need to login again that sends a code to my old number
@HeartofMePaperie Have you tried using a PC or Browser on your phone? Edited because I reread your OP and can see you are locked out on your PC Laptop, but are still logged in on your Phone
Can you use a Browser on your phone in another window to see if that provides you a Contact Link?
How did you log into your Shop on your Phone? Was it still open from a previous log in?
Select and read the instructions under this: I'm having trouble signing in with two-factor authentication
When you select the I Still Need Help button it'll bring you to a page to email Etsy.
I didn't need to log in to access any of the info above.
@PiecesOfMePaperCraft Just another thought. If you primarily use your PC to log in and are now using the phone, then you will have the "code" issue as the system will detect a log in from another device. Go back to the PC, refresh everything and try to log in again.
You're right. I don't use two-factor because it's such a pain in the butt for that reason.
It could well be that there is nothing really wrong here. I know that it often takes me 2 or 3 tries to log in to my Shops on my Laptop PC. The red error Log In messages have been an issue for years. I just refresh and try again and eventually I can log in successfully.
At least come back and post a "Nevermind." or a "."
