New responses to posted threads are not showing up on my discussion board chronologically. It's very hard to follow threads of interest when the current responses are not prioritized. Anyone else seeing this?
@OneEyeCatStudio YEP! It is hard to help when one has to wade through old or zombie threads to find current / recent comments and issues.
Well, the garden and house got plenty of attention yesterday. I suppose today will be washing and cleaning out the cars (long time overdue)
Any suggestions for tomorrow as I am just not going to waste time here until the issue is fixed?
Hi folks, we don't have any further updates to share at this time, but we apologise for the frustration.
If you have screenshots of what you are seeing, could you please email them to community@etsy.com, along with details of the browser you are using? We can ensure they are shared with Khoros.
ETA: The same out-of-sequence experience is not being replicated for all members, so we need further details of individual user experience. Thanks!
@thatregina Have you looked at Popular Discussions feed recently?
No need for screenshots as everyone using Popular Discussions for the past 2-3 days is seeing the same thing.
It looks like new Threads are being added to the top of the list, but Threads are not moving "up the line" once a new comment is added and these Threads remain in their original place according to date / time originally started. But the latest comment "timestamp" does change to indicate a new comment, but the Thread itself remains at the same place in the list as it occupied when first started.
Therefore, there may be one Thread sayingthat the latest comment was 5 hours ago and, immediately under that Thread, there will be a Thread saying latest comment is 20 secs ago
The worst thing about it is that, if you are reading to see what's happening on Etsy, you can't.
All the "Etsy closed my shop because someone stole my photos and no one will answer me!" threads just push the ones that are important, that used to stay at the top because they were topical, off the page.
@OneEyeCatStudio You realize of course, no one will see your comment unless they scroll down about 200 posts. Thanks anyway...............
I'm really pizzed about this. What's going on?
Just a thought here.
Is anyone who is interested in resolving this: Start a new thread? Wording it better than I have and being forum correct?
Wording it better than I have...
I think you worded it just fine.
I tried but I can't claim the 'better' part.
And posts still aren't bumping this one.
@OneEyeCatStudio But the "bump" did not "bump" this Thread.
It is still stuck behind a "roadblock" way down in the feed
I see they have closed the @OneEyeCatStudio thread and are re-directing any traffic to this one - heaven only knows where in the queue it is sitting now!
I see the same problem. Minutes are all over the place. Some hours are at the top and minutes are blow that.
Why when this post is replied to, does it not go to the top of the queue? This is a ongoing problem and should be addressed. PLEASE, update on fixing this issue.
I find it ironic that "someone" closed the other Thread on this issue and directed future comments to this Thread which, because it fails to update correctly and move up the list, is so far buried that no one can find it in "Popular Discussions".
@thatregina Have you tried to find this Thread on the "Popular Discussions" page? I suggest you try and post a response NOT from Notifications Page or a "Saved URL Link" BUT by searching for it in "Popular Discussions"
Still a mess. Tried Chrome and Firefox. Popular Discussion posts are out of order on both.
@thatregina @HouseofWhisperingFir @GielDesigns @OneEyeCatStudio @leinweberstudio Just adding to the Thread to see what happens. Some Threads are "moving" but they are not "moving" correctly. I can see no pattern. @thatreginaI have sent "screenshots" as requested, and I am sure this Thread would have more contributors if people could actually find it. As it stands, only original contributors are posting because they are getting the "Notification" of a new comment. It is certainly not because the Thread moves to the top of the page as it should.
(Testing)
Nesting under @CarpetCollectionAU to see if this Thread bumps up to the top, as a Thread normally would, after someone posts to it (either thru Nesting or posting at the bottom). I'll come back once I see what it does.
@thatregina Do you have any updates for us?
(Results of Testing from above, under CarpetCollectionAU).
This Thread did not Bump up to the top after I Nested a response under CarpetCollectionAU. When someone either Nests, or posts at the bottom, Threads would always go to the top. Mine did not. *(desktop computer, Chrome, Windows 10).
ETA: This Thread appears as the 23rd Thread down. It did not go up to the top (as Threads have always done, when someone posts the last Response, either Nested or at the end).
@ChillwolfArt Same for me. It didn't go to the top when you posted but was instead twenty-something posts down the list -- despite it being the latest post. I'm also on desktop with Windows 10 and Chrome but I tried Firefox and it's happening there too.
@GielDesigns Yes, just as you described. And I don't have Forum Notifications set (I clicked them off when I was getting a bunch of them way back). I only get an Alert by the Notifications Bell when someone "ats" me, or Likes a post. So I don't always know when someone Responds to me (if they don't "at" me). Sometimes I come across a post to me by accident, then feel bad that it looks like I ignored them, if it's something that needed to be acknowledged.
But I would always check posts by their "recent" state (when they would jump to the top), either by someone Nesting or Responding at the end of the Thread. It's hard to follow this way, when Threads don't jump to the top as they should.
ETA: This Thread is now 33rd down. It didn't jump up to the top after I posted.
It's the same when you're trying to help someone, don't know the answer, but say, "I'll give you a Bump". That's hard to do when the Threads no longer "Bump".
On top of all that, I also noticed just now that I'm not getting all forum notifications in my feed.
It sure showcases all the shops being put in Vacay mode.
@OneEyeCatStudio The law of "unintended consequences"? Or...should I say "unwanted consequences"?
Despite the fact that the most recent post on this Thread was 1 hour ago, this Thread moved DOWN the list and is now at 57th position, well behind Threads in which the most receent comment was made up to 6 hours ago
AND after making a comment 3 mins ago, the Thread oved DOWN to 65th place
@thatreginais anyone addressing this problem?
Once again, it's impossible to think anything other than this is intentional to discourage use.
