Forum Posts nesting under wrong comments

When I reply to a comment to nest underneath,

it nests under the last reply, not the comment I am replying to.

I thought it was just me, but I have seen other posters now, saying the same thing,

so it appears to be more of a wider issue, than an individual issue

can it be fixed please

@CappuccinoLace  Good suggestion.  My settings were already showing "linear format" and "threaded", but after I saved it, it corrected everything on Safari.

the above solutions work, 1 for everything, the other for chrome

For some reason forum layout settings are randomly changing from threaded to default.  You have to go in and change it back to threaded yourself.

Yup its happening all the time.

Then you try to fix it and it does it again. By that point I just edit the reply to delete and close the thread.

This Isn't solved, it needs to stop, it is Ridiculous and annoying! I have attempted the solutions provided from 2 different sources, and it is still happening to many people, incl. me today.
