I have linked photos activated on all my notebook listings so that I can see at a glance when I receive an order what colour cover the customer has selected. This morning I was adding last night's notebook orders to my spreadsheet and (thank goodness) noticed on one order that the cover colour shown on the picture didn't match the colour that the customer had actually selected. I went back through all my orders over the past couple of days and realised that I hadn't noticed this error on a few orders, thankfully not shipped yet. I then went through my whole shop and saw that linked photos had been deactivated on all my listings, so had to go in a reactivate them all. Christmas is the busiest time for my shop, what with Secret Santa etc., and it is the worst time for this to have happened, especially if I hadn't noticed! It looks like Etsy, once again, is fixing what isn't broken.
Has anyone else noticed this bug in their shop?
yes i had this glitch for about a year and its very frustrating. sometimes its only some of the pictures, and only some of the photos got somehow unlinked. it is frustrating but its been happening.
like you i usually find them when someone orders and the the pictures are different, and thatc can be helpful. when i first realized that was happening i did try to find them all, but some listings were still linked, so i did not get them all. but yeah it is incredibly frustrating because some things really need to be linked to show how it looks in that color, or to show off the size differences. i may still have a few in there but i have re done a lot of them. i have a lot of listings so its a lot to go through them all.
i recommend you use SKU numbers too. do not have be long or complex SKU numbers for each variation, but just come up with your own code. i tend to use color in the code, where green is GR and gold is GD , and on like that because that gives me an extra confirmation ive got the right item.
