Etsy Verification

I have just received an email from Etsy telling me that my shop is suspended and asking me to re-verify my shop as they are starting new payment system (see email below).  It all looks above board but I just want to see if anyone else has received the same message.  I smell a rat, but maybe it's genuine.

PS: The message in question did not come from Etsy, and we have already actioned the account attempting to impersonate admin.

That is not how etsy makes announcements about a "fresh payment system"!!!! The announcement would be on your dashboard.

SCAM! Real messages from etsy will be in your "from etsy" section of your inbox. Mark it as spam, do not engage in any way.

SCAM.  This one has been peaking since Black Friday, it is meant to scare sellers into rushing into something for fear of losing Holiday sales.

Etsy isn't stupid enough to add a new payment system without warning during the winter holidays.  

Gotta love the "reinforcement of security measures" part.  Coming from a scammer, that is rich!

If the message is from etsy, it's also in the "From Etsy" folder on the left of messages

If it's not in the "From Etsy" folder too, it's not from etsy, it's a scam
