Quick Edit not actually changing prices - but LOOKS like it is.

I noticed a super stressful error today that I finally figured out had to do with Quick Edit, so I wanted to spread the word incase anyone else is struggling with it...

If I use Quick Edit to change the prices on items it will LOOK like it works and even show in my listings pages and actual item pages correctly (all in the shop manager), but come to find out it never actually updates the listings in the shop.

At first i thought it was just etsy being slow at updating the prices but they never changed even after over a week.

The only way I found to fix it is to go individually into each item (remember- they APPEAR correct on the prices on my end) - and hit the PUBLISH button. (Without changing ANYTHING about the listing.)

As soon as you push publish - boom - the price truely changes in my shop like it should have through the Quick Edit mode.

Have you noticed this problem too? I'm definitely avoiding quick mode from now on. But I do hope they fix it still.

@PigAndPumpkin  I've used bulk edit to change prices twice today, both times just for a couple of items. Last time was just about 5 minutes ago. It worked fine in the listing editor and in the shopfront view.

Maybe clear your cache and then restart your device?

My experience as well.

Re: Quick Edit not actually changing prices - but LOOKS like it is.

@PigAndPumpkin This error has been reported by other Sellers for a week or so. When using "Quick Edit", the prices change on the actual Listing but not on the Main Page / Shop Front. I actually did a "test" and can confirm that, using "Quick Edit", I increased the price by $ 10.00. The Main Page / Shop Front continued to show the lower price whilst the actual Listing was correctly udated to show the higher price. A bit disturbing as this looks like "Bait and Switch" and many Sellers may not even realize this is happening unless they check both views of Listings.

I did also use "Quick Edit"to update Tags recently.  After reading reports of possible "glitches" with "Quick Edit", Iwent back to check and, sure enough, every Listing I edited was missing all 13 tags!!!

Re: Quick Edit not actually changing prices - but LOOKS like it is.

Still not working!   Before I was able to get the price to update by deactiving and reactivting the listing, but that isn't even working this morning.

I even double checked the view incognito and it is showing the old price.  Front shop page shows old price, click to item and it shows the new, higher price.

This looks like a bait and switch (which is illegal in US) and really needs to be fixed!

@PigAndPumpkin

I've seen others report the same, and I'm sorry you're having trouble as well.

Have never used Quick Edit since being on Etsy (2011), due to the many glitches quite frankly.  I've opened each listing & Edited from there.  OR grabbed the listing in the Listings Manager.  Bear in mind, I'm also smaller volume and know this tool SHOULD work properly.   I'm also a "one at a time" type of person (which doesn't work for everyone obviously); and should not have to.  When there are tools, they should work properly or be nixed (my opinion).

Re: Quick Edit not actually changing prices - but LOOKS like it is.

Updated some of my items and a day later the prices have not changed on the main page.  When I clicked on the item and edited the price  although it had shown the change, clicked on the main page the price showed the change.

Re: Quick Edit not actually changing prices - but LOOKS like it is.

This problem also seems to affect editing quantity. For some inexplicable reason changes do not propagate unless made in the listing itself.

Did someone find solution? I’m having same problems and don’t know what to do. Prices are all messed up, everywhere different. So frustrating.

Use bulk edit.  It's better overall as it has options for changing prices.  Just check the ones you want to change. Go to the last tab marked Editing options and pick prices.

I use bulk edit.  I don't bother with quick edit any longer.  I used to use it for years but when it started acting up I switched over to using bulk edit when that became available.

Re: Quick Edit not actually changing prices - but LOOKS like it is.

@vtbdesigns: There have been reports that price changes made using bulk edit or quick edit do not propagate correctly but if you make the change in the listing itself the other pages update sooner.

Re: Quick Edit not actually changing prices - but LOOKS like it is.

It just so… I have tried from 3 different users, incognito and devices. Just one shows like it should and just if I go direct on listing. And it’s been almost 5 days that I changed prices. And I found out today, contacted Etsy service but noting is resolved. Tried editing one by one and still, price is not shown correctly.

Re: Quick Edit not actually changing prices - but LOOKS like it is.

@vtbdesigns: Due to server side caching, it does sometimes take for changes to show up on pages such as your shop home page. We just looked at several of your listings from your shop home page and the prices are the same in both places.

YES!  For months I have been asking Etsy for help without any!  They say use the old system.  I say I did, they say use the new system.  The say try another browsers and clear the cache, I tried Brave Chrome, Safari, Opera, AND Firefox and it still doesn't work!  They say wait for the page to load, I waited a half hour and still get the same error message.  I also see that 100's of other people are complaining about the same problem!
