We got the email from Etsy today "You’ll need to confirm your seller info within 10 days". It looks like our account was missing a phone number and my name was entered with first name/last name on the same line. I uploaded the required documents as it made me do a name change. However, every time we try to submit, we get this message:
There was an error saving your taxpayer information. Please try again.
I saw there were many threads about this months ago, but I'm wondering if anyone got this solved and how? The countdown has begun and we're really worried.
I just tried that and it won't let me update....same message. How did you enter your phone number....using parentheses around area code? dashes? None?
Did the message go away on your dashboard after you added your phone # this way?
I did it, but the same error message showed up.

Go to the Yellow box that says "Need a new 1099-K with your latest details?" Click on the "Learn More" link. Under that you will see the link for "Legal and Tax Information" highlighted in blue. Click on that link and use that one to update your info. You will notice the link in the address bar is a little different than the other ones. That is the one that worked for me.
I can't believe this simple trick worked!! I tried clearing my cache, tried different browsers, etc. And this did the trick.
I also went to "Finance", "Legal and Tax Info". From there I selected "Edit" in the "Legal Shop Information" field and it let me add the phone number. Then I went back to the Yellow Banner and proceeded.

yes yes yes the LEARN MORE workaround was successful! well i was able to add my number then the yellow banner was still there. but when i clicked to confirm on the banner everything was updated, i just clicked thru confirm confirm confirm and bingo. thank you!!
if you are able to edit your original post with this solution you could be the real hero of the day
The "Learn More" link didn't work for me. I didn't get the error message when I added my phone # but when I went back to my Dashboard the yellow banner is still there.

Going through the learn more link worked, yay! Now everything is verified and got an email thanking me for confirming my info.
@PoshReels once you've successfully added your phone # to your account, you have to go back to the yellow banner and confirm everything (very easy just click thru confirming) . THEN the evil banner will go away and you'll get the magical confirmation email

I just did this same thing ( thank you to everyone who suggested this ) ! It seems to have ' gone through ' but I'm not sure how on earth we can verify this? WHERE on shop manager would you look to find this out?
Makes sense if they are having a mapping error. I found a missing dash in my phone number. However after I fixed that they will no longer accept my retyped information. Saying in a red box - "There was an error saving your taxpayer information."
Yup. I have the exact same issue! I submitted a support ticket, but, as they haven't replied to a previous support ticket I posted 6 days ago, I am very concerned.
Hello! I initially got the same error but was able to add my phone number xxx xxx xxxx with spaces in between and it worked!
Same error message here too, now I'm locked out for trying too many times. Ridiculous

I am going through the same thing but all my info was uploaded correctly. I even have a big blue banner across the top says "Good News! we were able to verify your info!" yet here I sit, day 10 of my shop being forced into vacation mode where I can't make any sales. Average of $1600 loss in sales so far. The email correspondence with Etsy has been a crap show to say the least No one seems to know what's going on and of course no chat feature because that would be too convenient. I'm about to close my shop after 3 successful years, the fees, lack of communication and headaches just aren't worth it anymore.
I am in this situation now... did yours resolve and can you tell me how?
Does anyone know if it will pause payments? Last time there was something like this, I think my payments were paused for 5 business days (but that was specifically related to Payments - we had to confirm our banking info).
