I have a customer who made a purchase, shortly after the purchase disappeared.
I received a message from the customer shortly after stating that they are having difficulty having it go through.
Is there anything on my end that I can do to help with this? I don't have any more specifics than that. This is a new shop, this was going to be my first sale.
Etsy's credit card processors may be investigating whether there is fraud, over the limit, or a dozen other problems. Never take the sale off Etsy and be patient. There are scammers who hunt for new shops and spin a web of deceit.
I had the purchase pop up, I was very excited due to it being my first sale. a few moments later it disappeared. I figured maybe they cancelled the order or something else. then received a message saying an issue going through.
I would certainly not go off Etsy for the sale but was concerned I may have overlooked something simple that would block purchases from happening.
Guess I will just wait for the next one.
Thank you for the Reply!
Have seen other posts lately saying the same think. There is a possibility scammers are trying to see if stolen card numbers will work and are targeting new shops as well as others it seems.
@TheTableTopArchitect : There is nothing that you can do but the order should appear in the Completed section of your orders and shipping page as cancelled. For legal / privacy reasons Etsy cannot tell you why the order was cancelled.
It is not unusual for the first Sale in a Shop to fail. Have you checked your Dashboard / Email for any requests from Etsy to verify your Banking Details or provide more / updated / clearer ID documentation?
When on-boarding, a Shop's Documentation is often "automatically" checked by "bots". Once a Sale happens, this often triggers a review of the documentation and, possibly, a request from Etsy to provide more information.
I have been checking everything over and over. I don’t see any emails or notifications. It says my identification has been verified.
I updated my policies (read that was an issue for some people). I guess I just need to wait and see.
