For 3 weeks I have had a back in forth with Etsy about my business information and about resending the same documents with all the correct information. Then today I had to use my on project management skills for my own shop. Turns out, when Etsy asks for the Business Registration number, I entered my business registration number, well this must have auto populated as the entity ID number or I could have rushed and entered the Entity ID number as the business registration number. For retail businesses the 2 numbers are different, even though google and other resources say they are the same they are not. So, my issue is, Etsy has the help instructions that appears that the end user can edit the information up to 5 times in a 24 hour period but this is not correct because the option not only does not exist for you to edit anything outside of your name. It has that you can edit the taxpayer ID but when you click edit by the Primary Taxpayer ID, the popup box gives you a selection to change taxpayer ID only. The HELP section says at this point you should be able to have a drop down box that allows you to select the "type of ID" however, that is not the case. When you select to change the "taxpayer ID Only" it asks you to "Please enter a valid social security number" instead.
Therefore, there is no real assistance with being able to correct your business information or entity ID. I have sent numerous emails and help tickets with screenshots, (they don't allow screenshots on the forum) to show where the error lies and I am constantly told to submit the documentation that matches my Entity ID. My business registration in entered where the Entity ID number is supposed to go and that Entity ID is what is showing up on my Articles of Organization and other documentation submitted along with the business registration number on the sales document I submitted as well.
Will Etsy perform an enhancement to their systems allow the end-user to update or correct their business information for a more expedited resolution, or must we wait several weeks at a time going through the same loop to get our issues resolved? If I cannot fix the Entity ID since Etsy has this greyed out, but the Etsy platform as HOW TO step by step action that is supposed to allow me to edit such information, how does this issue get fixed? Do we have to come to the forums to bring this out to have a specialist review this to help us individually, after waiting several weeks to no avail. Can Etsy make the correction for me since all the documentation is provided or will Etsy need a written consent authorizing me to make the correction to my business information on my behalf since I am not capable of doing so?
Please help with my issue and seemingly a lot of individuals issue on this forum is also on this same line, so it may be worth looking at your processes to determine how to streamline this process more effectively.
