This is my second shop. After uploading two listings I got a "account currently suspended" notice.
It might be because this is my second Etsy shop and possibly an ID issue.
But I received no email explaining why, and checked my spam folder.
I also emailed Etsy support 22 hours ago. So now I'm just waiting
The point of this post is not to speculate as to why.
My question is for any of you that has had an account suspension: how long was it before you got contact with Etsy and your account reinstated?
I'm aware Etsy support is slow, but apparently it's meant to have improved with more staff in place.
I was so excited to get started, I just want to know what's gone wrong so I can amend it and get back to selling.
UPDATE: My account has now been reinstated. And it took Etsy a little under 8 days to do this.
They did not give me a reason why my account was suspended, which leads me to believe it had something to do with them verifying my account details. I have learnt it is common for them to suspend an account while they verify account details such as ID and tax.
Even if they didn't give me a reason I'm grateful to get back to selling.
Thank you so much for your support and well wishes. It was lovely to connect with you all while I waited!
You say "more staff in place", but I'm not sure that has happened yet. They alleged that the increase in fees would go towards improving help, but the fees just went into effect, and it takes time to hire people. Not making excuses, but it's wrong to assume that there is now more staff in place.
Hopefully someone can come along who has experienced a suspension that was subsequently lifted.
I thought I replied but it's not showing up. Anyway I said that makes sense and you're probably right. And thank you for your well wishes.
It might be because you are breaking Etsy's Terms of Use?
https://www.etsy.com/legal/policy/services/242665313101
"Metaphysical services may not be sold in our marketplace. Examples of prohibited metaphysical services include:
That's not my second shop.
And as mentioned I'd rather not speculate as to why Etsy has flagged me, it could be something as simple as needing to process my ID and tax info in.
if you open a second shop, you have to disclose each shop, in the other
and they have to be selling different things
etsy says they don't always e-mail you,
if they do, it's from etsy legal, and some e-mail providers put that straight to spam, or don't even pass the e-mail through to you at all, not even to spam
Yep I'm selling different things unrelated to my first shop.
"if you open a second shop, you have to disclose each shop, in the other".
Where do you do that CraftyCornishMaids? That might help things along!
If you go to edit shop
where it says - about IntuitiveNikita - and your picture, it is info about you, you need to say you have another shop too, and put the name of the shop
Upon review CraftyCornishMaids, I wanted to ask where you got the information that "you have to disclose each shop"?
I've looked at how to open a second shop here:
And the seller policy:
https://www.etsy.com/legal/sellers
And I don't see anything that states you need to do this.
I mean no disrespect, I only ask because I know there will be people who get their account suspended, like myself, who will come along and review previous threads for help and I would very much not like to spread anything misleading or is beyond what is expected from Etsy seller policy.
Of course, I may have missed something. Ta.
@uixtg9hh It's found on this page:
Your Bio and Profile Picture – Etsy Help
You'd think this info would also be on the 'opening a second shop' page, right? lol
However, not disclosing other accounts right away is not usually the reason why a shop is closed right after opening.
Thank you for clarifying TheVintagePineapple!
Navigating what Etsy wants from sellers is a bit of maze but that is great and important to know!
Thanks again
It's been happening a lot - I doubt there's any issues with it being a 2nd shop, etc, I think there's just auto-triggers. These days when contacting help I find it best to just look around in the questions until you find something with a chat option, even if the question has no relevance to your problem at all.
This one has a chat function:
that's the fastest way to get it sorted out; if they have to pass you on to someone it seems to be attended to quicker than standard ticket line, at least as far as my friend recently experienced using it. She had her new shop suspended for no reason and after a week of no contact/reply from etsy, I finally found this chat link. She had it sorted in 24 hours.
Thanks BriarMoonBeads!
I found a callback link on a previous account suspended thread and got a callback in less than a minute. They were only able to escalate it but at least they realised this was my second shop.
This is the email I got after the call:
(REMOVED)
It's been 3 days since I received that and a total of 4 days since suspension. If I don't hear back in 7 days I'll try the chat so thanks for including it!
Etsy recently blocked me out of my account for "my own protection" and I've been selling and buying for over a decade. My account has not been compromised in any way. There's no rhyme or reason with what they do. All you can do is wait for their customer service to respond.
Hi there,
We ask that you not discuss the private details of your interactions with Etsy representatives. This point is outlined in our Community policy:
https://www.etsy.com/legal/community
Thank you!
I see, will do!
You require all of this information for a $200 spiritual reading about spirit guides and people just send it to you? Nobody is concerned about identity theft? They just offer up all of this private info because you're an "energetic match?"
I dunno if this is an Etsy violation, but it sure is a garland of red flags to me.

Thank you SunnyDayVintage, that's right I'm not.
FallenAngelBrass that is my first shop, this thread is about my second.
Unless you have experienced an account suspension and have something to add, please don't use this space to air your personal grievances.
The same thing happened to this persons friend, after 9 days the shop was able to open. I hope you can get it sorted out : )
Oh lovely ColorfulCastAndCrew!
I'm now 7 days in. I know some have had theirs sorted out in 3-4 days and I'm like how come it's taking so long.
So that is extremely helpful to know, thank you.

I just had the EXACT same happen to me on my new 2nd store. Glad to hear it was reinstated and hope to have the same outcome. It's a bit frustrating.
Did yours say it was permanently suspended?
Mine does and I'm going nuts trying to figure out why.
How did you reach them? Im experiencing this now got suspe ded have $850 on hold now was suposed to be deposited tomorrow. Nwver got an email why
